Adam Fox Keep in mind I written that comment 6 months ago. Now, 6 months ago, Bob was being a fucking nut job. Accusing Bruce and others of stealing, insulting Bruce’s wife for the way she looks, insulting other people for questioning his claims, calling himself a 'grammy award winning producer' over and over etc etc. Don't get me wrong, before all the drama, I met him at a KISS convention; I thought he was one of the most down to earth people I've met. But when this drama happened... Yeesh. Of course I feel a little bad for what I've commented now he's dead. Despite all of his accusations towards Bruce, he was a great guitar player.

This is very interesting to hear. The interviewer asked all of the right questions. However, sometimes a session player is just a session player. Bob had a chance to parlay his KISS experience to write for many other artists and get his credit and money elsewhere. Basically, he had a KISS internship that lead to many other more lucrative opportunities including his Grammy work that he brings up 100 times. In a perfect world, Gene and Paul would calculate the financial impact of all of their contributors and pay them the fair market price. However, in the end, who created the product KISS from the ground up with relentless touring, band concept, etc. from 74-77 that made it a viable product in the first place? It's hard to say what the fair market price would be for contributions to an already established product.

Britt Hancock 100 million is Gene and Paul’s BS number. They haven’t sold anywhere near that globally. 50 or 60 max. They haven’t had a platinum album since 1988. Look up the sales on RIAA for yourself, add the Soundscan figures and the internationals. You’ll get no more than 50 or 60 million.

I commented before but after listening to the second half of the interview again, I wanted to give Jimmy his due. I thought your effort was spectacular and subscribed to the channel as a result. Initially, I heard Mitch Lafon's interview with Bob and it was ok. Then I heard talk of the Metal Voice from a different KZfaq channel. So I had to check this out. I have all the respect in the world for you Jimmy, keeping Bob dialed into your direction. It was a phenomenal show and we learned more than we ever knew before because of it. And yeah, yeah, it must of been annoying, as well as humorous, of Bob chomping away and telling you about his creds. But it was soooooo much more than that to me. This interview was refreshing yet jaw dropping. I enjoyed his direct answers. Much like you hear from Peter, and Ace. There's not that rehearsed response like "gymnasium" that's a big word. He was just bitter, and matter-of -fact. I haven't seen it commented on but I caught at 39:13 Bob talking about the EOTR shows and posing the question of what we are really hearing. Bob was basically an audio book. It was that informative. It was funny when he was asked if it was therapeutic for him! The only thing, I thought he was somewhat delusional was having the session musicians perform live at the final show or shows. That would only dilute the importance of Peter and Ace. Especially, if they are only given the final show to perform. Lastly, being the "Producer", the tag he continually pounded in our brains, he should Produce a "Book". Much like the 4 original members wrote. Perhaps you, Jimmy, should suggest that to Bob. I think he would sell a lot of copies. Thanks again for great interview!

I love Bobs guitar work on Paul’s solo album and other KISS songs but I’ve seen this behavior from people. They are in a bad spot careerwise or financial etc and lash out at those they thought should have helped more then they did. I hear him but you have to move on from those issues or frustration if true or not or it will eat you alive and manifest in disease. which it ultimately did. And the “no respect” part is ironic as he smacks on the food he’s eating during an interview. Couldn’t wait till the interview was over? RIP Bob and I hope you found the true peace we all desire. Ace was the Perfect Choice, BUT they read Bob from the very start. Bob was Their Equal(maybe even above)& they knew He wouldn't have taken shit from them. Just imagine Bob in the band with an equal share & Bill/Sean. Gen/Paul would've tried to sabotage Him & eventually force Him out. He would've been miserable & dying musically due to lack of creative freedom. If Bob was in Kiss, the story would've still gone the same way & they would've still had to do solo albums.

The beef with Gene and Paul and Doc I understand, Not a huge deal and this shit happens all the time. The part that sucks is two brothers being ripped apart by such things. Seems like a huge fuss being made about nothing really.

IMHO, I think Stella Stevens gave this guy an emotional center and comfort that allowed him to shrug off a lot of this - after her tragic death, the love of his life was no longer there to massage his issues, and he started getting cranky. Not that what he says is not true, but he is repetitively venting and the bitterness is going on and on.

What I learned from Bob in this interview is this: your self respect may cost you the good opinions of others -but it's worth the price. Also, I wanted to add that side four of Alive II is the best work Kiss ever recorded. You did good, Bob. Immutably, indisputably good. Rest easy.

Bob's "self-respect" costs the good opinions of others? No, it's no self-respect. He had none. Otherwise he would not eat and chew all the time during an interview. Who can respect him? Noone, really, noone! Nor has he respect towards others. Not to the interviewer. Not to the fans. What does he care about fans! When it's worth the price, why was he than complaining that he never had enough respect?

Bob has been standing on the sideline and watched his brother crawl for Gene and Paul for 25 years so he could live off the name and brand. It was a smart thing to do but in the end Bruce has to live with himself being a fanboy of the band he once played in. I like Bruce but what has he done besides living off KISS since 1995?
