I've had my Bob for over a year now and haven't had an issue with it at all, does what I need it to. There are cheaper table top models on the market but for me it was the compact size and looks that swung it. You don't have to use the Bob cassettes and can use any brand of dishwasher tablet, and the convenience of not having to connect it to a tap or plumb it in are worth the price in my opinion.

What came with it the jug & water pipe ?

@@katiemillington6951 Bob only comes with drain pipe. No Jug, no fresh water hose. If you want to connect Bob to tap water I would recommend to get a hose from your local hardware store.

I had the Bob dishwasher. The top plastic split and the cassettes are expensive and come from France which can be harder as we left the EU.

Thanks for sharing. The cassettes and it being from france stopped me from getting the bob. I've got a mini dishwasher from Electriq and had it over a year and it's still perfect. Only downside it it doesn't fit normal size plates

Hello. You are not obliged to use cassettes :) We are offering to use two possible types of detergent - cassettes and tablets. Depending on the frequency of cycles and use of Bob, you can choose the one that suits you the most. You can also use any tablets for dishwasher, that are available in your closest supermarket.

I have Bob since 2021 and I can really recommend it. It has more space inside than it seems at first glance, and if you are creative you can fit lots of dishes in there. I only use "all in one" dishwasher tablets that i break in half instead of the cassettes. Half a dishwasher tablet is way cheaper than the cassettes and if you use all in one tablets that contain dishwasher special salt your dishes will be clean and free from limestone. I also had good experiences with Support. If something breaks they send you the Parts (including a screwdriver) and a really good video tutorial so you can repair Bob by yourself. Bob is really repair friendly and repairing it is almost "idiot proof" :)

I returned my BOB, there were so many disappointments with it. I have since bought a truly great mini DW. It is actually smaller 42x42x45 but takes more dishes ...why ? Because it is well designed & laid out, it has an upper shelf. It also came with the two pipes, no messing with jubilee clips & screw drivers as the drain pipe just slots on, a jug & a sturdy fruit basket came & so much more. It has a lid on the water inlet & many of the things BOB lacks.....an on & off switch for one ! How many realise BOB is taking info from their use of the machine , the chip in the cassette is where it connects to the internet...which is why [ feel ] they say leave it in even if you use tablets.

@@katiemillington6951 What were your disappointments? Any hardware defects or just usability? I believe your Tabletop DW is great too but you have to carefully choose them to fit your needs. For example I have many large plates which dont fit into other Dishwashers. In one point I strongly want to disagree. Bob does not connect to the internet through the cassette (I am an electrical engineer) :D The chip inside the cassette just contains the information which cassette it is (Pop/Rock'n'Roll) and how many cycles are left. This has been common practice for example in printer cartridges since about two decades. The recommendation to leave the cartridge inside Bob is due to possible flowback of water from the washing compartment. If a cartridge is connected the water won't be able to flow back through the detergent pipes and possibly flood your kitchen. You also dont have to connect Bob to the Internet. If you don't use the overpriced cassette ordering system there is simply no point in connecting Bob to WIFI. I havent't done it either. If you won't connect BOB to WIFI it won't be able to send any information to the manufacturer.

Hello again,.......you did ask me to reply & I have tried to keep it short, failed as you will see. My disappointment was initially no 'carafe', having watched all their promotion & unboxing videos where it was never said this wasn't included, in fact one said 'please use the carafe'. An advert only 4 months before I ordered mine had the extras, water pipe & carafe for 70 euros less than I paid. I now know their prices are all over the place as is what is included in the package. I was not able to check my 'deal' because they slyly removed it from the Amazon site...replacing it with their 'luxury ' pack.. I didn't like the drain pipe fixing , a jubilee clip & screw driver, where my new one is a shaped easy fix push on quality pipe, with a finished end & a rubber sucker, Unlike BOB with an cheap unfinished cut off & a ridiculous arrangement for the sink, a raw pipe to be held in place by a big black thing wrapped around the tap.& they call themselves designers ! Not having a cover for the water inlet is unsatisfactory, certainly when there's work taking place in an old house & they say do not cover, they show it in the open air too, exposed to the elements yet all others have a cover. Nor did I like that I could not switch it off, I was not prepared to pull the plug out after use to be sure it was "off.' My suspicion about the internet is because the machine knew when I registered, I never connected to the internet so how did it know I'd been to the website & within seconds the green tick showed & the machine could be used. I asked twice about this but have been met with silence. The cassette is design for the sake of it, a waste of space,...and no way eco friendly when a simple tablet is. When after a few days I thought maybe I should try connecting to the mains water, I went back to the box & found there was no pipe. They say energy CAT A but comes with a sticker CAT F....as most of them are. . By this time with all their misleading adverts I suspected this company would never honour all their after sales promises I was done with Bob, I packed it back up & returned it....a week ago & still they have not had the courtesy to contact me. The company said you return it at your own expense yes 64.Euros ....... even though again adverts say, Returns Gratuit & Satisfaction or refund. There are far better mini dishwashers available & even at a lower price, though price was not my consideration. www.natureetdecouvertes.com/deco-maison/entretien-ecologique/produits-menage-ecologique/daan-tech-bob-lave-vaisselle-3-couverts-98320580?query_id=b5790a196d3bf9844806d42f56d7a89b&object_id=275507 . @@RechtschreibrichterReiner

@@katiemillington6951 Okay, thank you. I dont quite get your critique, because many problems seem to be caused by the vendor. If the vendor (the shop link you sent me) makes false statements (about energy efficiency / included items) I think this is not a Problem of the Manufacturer. Also the return fee is not controlled by the Manufacturer, it is determined by the Vendor. I also don't quite understand your criticism of the jubilee clip. Its an industry standard for mounting hoses and pipes to an outlet and is used by Car manufacturers and is found in every "normal" dishwasher too. If you want to cover your water inlet just put something over it. I dont see the problem.. What the meant by not covering it was not to seal it (airtight) as the inlet is important for pressure equalization when filling/draining the water tank. Indeed the Cassette is useless, but at least you don't have to use it. What I also dont understand: There is no Dishwasher in the world with an "on/off" switch that cuts the device from power. Bob falls, after not being used for some minutes, in a deep sleep (standby) as any other "normal" dishwasher too, where it consumes almost no power. So no difference to a normal dishwasher here either. I think you misstook the Internet thing but to be honest i barely understand what you mean with your description. If you dont connect the Machine to your wifi it cant connect to the Internet. Otherwise your Dishwasher would be the worlds most dangerous hacker, prosecuted by the FBI..😅 The Website/your machine just informed you that the machine is not connected to the internet. It knows that because the machine was not connected to the internet and did not communicate with your daan tech account. You get what I mean? I am sorry for your bad shop experience. Thank you for your reply ☺

Just because you don't understand does not mean I am wrong on anything I've said, I am not comparing this to a normal sized DW. . You are wrong on the return fee, Amazon does NOT charge for returns it's always down to the vendor.....usually they also refund any cost. Fortunately for me, as someone who shops almost weekly with Amazon I did buy from them so I am confident they will see this through. They are blameless in this, Daan used their site for promotion & sale all with their own words, but were the third party seller not Amazon.. Daan have CAT A on there AND the site I sent you, there's no mistake. I sent you that link because DAAN have removed the page I ordered from...as I told you. My new dishwasher [ which BTW takes 28 cm size plates] DOES have a switch for on & off manually ....just like all of my other electrics, with an independent button, even my microwave clock. The only thing allowed to continue running in my house are the Fridges. As you are taking so much interest in this & strongly supporting DAAN, I feel you must be connected with the company in some way so, no more from me. Good night.

i cant see this being more eco friendly than handwashing unless you wash with water running constantly..handwashing at home i would only use severeal litres for twice that volume of dishes, seems very gimmicky....
@DaanTech

Hello. Our technical laboratory research proved that Bob the mini dishwasher is not only responsible and sustainable, but also economical, as it uses only 2.9 litres of water on an average washing cycle of 20 min, unlike a conventional machine which uses about 12 litres. Bob also consumes an amount of water which is 5 times less than when you wash your dishes by hands.
@neoaliphant
@neoaliphant Жыл бұрын
@@DaanTech that implies 15 litres almost for handwashing, thats a HUGE amount, i agree that the Bob is economical to large washing machine, but handwashing i probably use 3 litres for a wash many times what Bob can fit in it.....might be good for a tiny home or apartment where there isnt many dishes and you really wanted a dishwasher...but hadwashing is cheaper and more economical....but then so is making your own bread

@neoaliphant I grew up out in the country with a very old septic system and am conditioned to be very frugal with the water I put down the drain. I assure you you severely underestimate the amount of water you used doing dishes. Just imagine how many glasses of water you dumped down the drain while you're rinsing your glasses and mugs. You're talkin probably a gallon of water right there. I almost always go through at least 5 gallons of water doing dishes even taking into account the economy of scale and stacking on my plates and bowls up without the water running after I scrub them with the Soapy sponge. If my stuff isn't really dirty I don't even bother telling the sync up to have an initial wash water I only run some water in them and then wash them and restack them and then rinse them off.
@neoaliphant
@neoaliphant Жыл бұрын
@@NoZenith Thats the thing, rinsing constantly usues a lot of water, which i gather is quite an american thing to do, i measured the water earlier in the washing up today, a large lot approached 4 litres in total including a slight rinsing.... so about a gallon a day at most every day for family of 2, 2 gallons if there was a roast as that uses loads of washing
@NoZenith
@NoZenith Жыл бұрын
@neoaliphant I didn't rent continuously I didn't turn the bat water back on until I was finished washing but all the glasses, bowls silverware and a couple pots took more water to rinse than to wash

I have watched all the videos available & am left thinking this company has financial problems. They started out providing all sorts of extras, but now within the last year they have been dropped , for 389 Euros I have not even received the water pipe. They will never compete with China who include everything Daan don't & for a much lower price.

It's a rip off.Not the smallest at all, it simply washes dishes.....just like those at half the price & there's so many faulty design things about it, not even an off button.
