Dang his art is so good. Those scenes are something you could look at every day and never get tired of it.

A great artist in pastels. His work is world class, masterly and a wonderful inspiration to those who wish to go in pastel painting.

I agree, there is so much extreme realism being done online today and this work is so refreshing in its much looser approach. Masterful.

These are the nicest pastels I have seen in years. They rival anything I have seen in oil. Truly impressionistic and atmospheric in approach and technique. I had never seen any of your work. I am duly awed, humbled and inspired anew. Thank you Sir. Also, I have been putting people into landscapes as well. I teach others to do the same. It gives such humanity to paintings.

Wow. My dad was a commercial artist because that was the only option for artists, and then he became the art director for the biggest advertising agency in the Southern Hemisphere after we left London. He died too young, before he could travel and paint Australia, which was his dream. This is a lovely tribute for Bob Richardson.

Australia has unique light reflection and wild life atmosphere really challenging for artists and photographers, I took many amazing photographs when I was there.

Without question Bob Richardson is the best landscape pastel artist in Britain , indeed Europe if not global living today. His works are inspirational, capturing the light and atmosphere of each scene delicately and profoundly, Such a humble talented artist, passionate and dedicated to his art. This is a wonderful film and gratefully appreciated.

I salute you, Sir. You have mastered the art of the Pastel. Your talent shines for me from the way you capture the light. It is masterful and I wish I cud paint like that chuck. My family and I are from Stockport and I recognised many of the places portrayed in this too short video. Words can't describe how this has inspired me so I will say tara ar kid and let me watch this many times pausing to look at the amazing detail I have yet to master.

Wonderful work and video! I'm such a fan💞 a couple of questions if I may; are your oil pastel paintings on canvas, and if so is it primed? Do you put anything over the pastel painting or simply frame under glass only?

what fixative would you recommend? Most fixative darkens the pastel.
@jimisi74244 жыл бұрын
Also A lot of artists have a go at pastel fixative, but as I travel a lot, I need to fix my work. I use a good name (w+n or what have you). But I use it both during painting and after it very lightly. And when I finally fix it I take my time. Usually about four very thin layers spaying and waiting. With a bit of patience I get very little darkening

Hardware store sandpaper isn't archival. If he used sanded surfaces throughout his career, he probably made them himself using gesso and grit.
