All in good fun. He'd record an entire year of episodes in one day. So they'd be there many hours. It was his show and certainly after a few years he was calling all the shots so he was aware it was a balance getting those paintings done in time while also enjoying his one day a year he'd express himself to the world.

This man (Bob Ross) used to be on PBS in Northern Ontario on weekdays at 2.00 pm. When I used to pretend to my parents that I was sick and stayed at home from boring school. I always watched his painting programs. That was 1988-1994. And when I found out the following year watching the re-runs just wasn't the same because he passed away.

Bob Ross was a gift the rest of humanity didn’t deserve. I absolutely love watching him. Even as a kid I loved his videos even though I was way too young to paint and follow his directions properly. I loved just sitting in front of the tv in the early 90’s and watching him. He is sorely missed. No one will ever equal his personality, grace, softness and talent.

55 years ago i watched this man on PBS I was so amazed ,, and now i am still amazed at his dedication to his work to make it easier for the general public to ssee and enjoy, Im retired now and i do paint on the side of many of my other hobbies but painting is the ultimate challenge for me. thank you Bob.

he brought so much joy and relaxation to my life growing up and I just started to re-watch all of his shows on netflix. I have never been so happy as when im watching Bob Ross.

When i was a little kid, i went to this camp and in the mornings the way the sunlight reflected off the trees looked just like how he painted the trees here. Amazing skill.

Lol it was just a random camp. I just think it's amazing that out of his imagination, Bob Ross could conjure something so beautiful and natural it looks like real life.

Compared to nowadays, the simplest of beautiful talents became one of the best shows on tv then and now some decades later. Hope he still knows how much he was loved by fans and still is. Of all of the things I could be watching, I would take this hands down over anything on tv today.

He has a reference painting (that he made beforehand) that he studies out of the camera’s field of view. For every episode, there are three paintings. The reference, the one that you watch him paint, and the finished product.

This painting was absolutely amazing. I literally was left breathless by the beauty of this painting, I wish I could have it to hang on my wall. I would never stop looking at it.
