I got this VHS at a Bob Zany Concert in the late 90s. I saw Bob again in 2014 and told him I had a bootleg video of his stand-up and I was going to post on the internet. He seemed to get a kick out of the idea, I didn't realize the name of his tape was also "Bootleg" so I guess it was a self fulfilling prophecy. A bootleg version of "Bootleg" I went to this comedy club named Zany's and asked if Bob Zany was going to appear, they told me they have nothing to do with Bob Zany. I figured he had started his own franchise of comedy clubs. Nope. I also remember seeing Bob on an episode of "Last Comic Standing." So I have been following Bob's career for a while. He is a funny, funny guy, I love comedy, I love comedians, or most comedians. Bob knows the nuts and bolts of his craft. I hope you all watch this video and enjoy the comedy of Bob Zany.

bob long time I remember a time when I was a junior and you were a senior on the West Covina Spartans football team Anyways we would have team dinner at a restaurant on game night i remember being seated with you and a couple of other team mates I was 17 and I knew we had to be focused But you did a comedic routine at our table I can never forget to this day One of them involved your impersonation of a tampon commercial utilizing your complimentary bread with your glass of water Stunning But apparently not with the coaches I sill laugh my ass off to this day

Thanks for posting this! I also have the "bootleg" VHS (somewhere) - was on repeat for awhile. Was a big Bob Zany fan, and I I saw him perform @ The Aku-Aku in Worcester, MA back in the 90's. Met him briefly - very cool guy, BAY-BEE!

Love Bob zany...got da priveledge to speak with him when I won a weekly " SAVE THE JOKE " contest he had on a weekly national radio show...Mr. zany...if u read these posts..know THIS... I was TOO NERVOUS AND STARSTRUCK when I spoke with you...first off... I BOTCHED my PUNCHLINE DELIVERY!! SECONDLY.... I BAILED on telling u a joke I came up with on da fly when u asked me ( on air )...." where are u from?" I said * Oregon." You replied.." wow! I'ma be in Portland, Oregon, next week for a show!" I ( ALMOST ) said. . " Bob, you'll see when u get here.....not much happening in Oregon... I'm not saying Oregon is BORING, BUT, our State license plate DOES read...." I don’t understand why this guy never made it big. Probably too modest, ethical, and self effacing. Today he has gained back most of the weight and lost most of the hair and is working small clubs in towns like Ogden Utah that make this gig look like the big time.

His real name is : Robert Earl Tetreault. I think his stage name is 100% spot on and a good choice.

I just saw him for the first time in a more recent performance. Wow he looks so different here. So thin. I enjoyed his set so much I wanted to see his older stuff having no idea how long he had been in stand up comedy so I found this video. Thanks. I would ask why he's not a bigger star but I don't want to jinx him.
