In Episode One: “Give The Ball To Bobby,” journey to Hoffenheim to hear from those involved in signing the enigmatic teenager from Brazilian side Figueirense, as well as the teammates and staff who helped him settle in the new surroundings of Germany before watching him shine as a superstar player in the Bundesliga. Journalists Phil McNulty (BBC), Neil Jones (Goal) and Dominic King (The Mail), along with former Liverpool Managing Director Ian Ayre document the great lengths, figuratively and literally, that the Reds went to in order to secure the signing of the samba star. On the pitch, Firmino’s former Anfield teammates Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and Lucas Leiva champion Bobby’s evolution from the reserved footballing enigma who arrived on Merseyside to one of the most pivotal players of Jurgen Klopp’s all conquering Reds.

Losing those finals together made winning together sooooo much more meaningful, it felt bigger than football, it felt like for moments, life was just okay, a happy family and as I reflect over the years, I just appreciate going on the ride with the ones that were on the bus with us

This is exactly the definition of how destiny plays out it's course. Bobby deserved to be loved and he wasn't so much under Rogers. But then came in Klopp like a father and almost fought the whole skeptic world and made him one of the best No 9s in the bloody world. It's crazy how the sequence of events had turned out. Definitely going into my legends book, Bobby is and will always be a Kop's Darling. He deserves it and more. May God keep him and his family always smiling and healthy.
