Anyone who thinks Bobby Heenan is a jerk for what he said about WCW is totally clueless. Bobby was never a jerk. “The Brain” was a brilliant character and a jerk. @@swfcocs1I was a WCW fan and I agree with Heenan a hundred percent. Ppl say what they say about Vince but he was the one guy who understood it was a business and treated it as such. He had the proper infrastructure to run efficiently, he put the right ppl around him to get the most of them. He did it right. Despite all the recent stuff (and it's not good) when it came to running a company and growing it bigger and bigger, Vince was the best. The fact WWE is the biggest wrestling company on the planet and the thing most commonly associated with wrestling is the proof.

Sid attacked HBK's manager (an old man) but the crowd didn't care. This was the tail end of his babyface run, and the fans were so done with him at the top. 1997 was an awesome year, with the Hart Foundation on top with Bret's heel run and the rise of Stone Cold. From everything that I've been able to glean from what Bobby had said, it seems like part of the issue was that he was from a different time and place than most of the know-it-alls at WCW. Sure, they valued his work doing the announcing on the broadcasts, but only because they knew that Bobby's inimitable style helped with the ratings, which helped fill the bank account. But, as far as his input went, he was not, for the lack of a better way to put it, one of them.

I loved Bobby heenan a very funny entertaining man,a wrestling legend and he had the ability to make a crap match entertaining with his commentary. As a manager he would take a pasting take the bumps and wrestling is poorer without him.God bless you Bobby.gr73.

As great as WCW was during that time, Bobby is right about this. They paid too many guys way too much money. And they started angles, then let them die. For a multitude of reasons, they let them die. Very little follow up ever occurred.

Back in the day I only watched WCW and ECW. I stopped watching WCW when they had the whole nWo 2000 deal. After that no wrestling for me to watch until TNA and then AEW. The company in Stamford Connecticut can go kick rocks.

They didn’t listen to perhaps the smartest mind in Wrestling, He was regarded as just a commentator by Bischoff. How f’n near sided is that, good WCW went under!

He seems like an ingrate. He leaves out the fact "lousy" WCW, gave him a higher salary, insurance AND a lighter schedule than Vince ever did. He has some legit points about how they were run, but he seems ungrateful for all they did for him. And "that jerk" Bischoff, also allowed Bobby airtime to give his farewell to Gorilla Monsoon (a WWF talent), something Vince would never allow his talent to do on his show (if it was a WCW talent passing away) in a million years.

As a kid, I could tell Heenan was checked out on-camera. It was … not subtle.

The only thing I was annoyed with Heenan was when he gave away Hulk Hogan being "the mystery partner" before he hit the ring and turned on Savage, Sting and Luger. Heenan going early spoiled the surprise a bit.

To me bishoff comes off as a mark for Vince McMahon, and when Vince McMahon told him to go fry eggs in the 80s when Eric applied for a job Eric took it personal, because like I said "he's was a mark" so when Eric found himself in a position to put Vince McMahon out of business he did everything he possibly could. It was never about making wcw grow and succeed to Eric bishoff it only about putting Vince McMahon out of business, thats all.

Kinda funny Bobby thinks that was turned WCW around was the WWE vignettes about WCW and Goldberg. nWo played no part? 83 weeks seem to line up with Scott Hall showing up and it starting.

One of those WWF vignettes featured Razor and Diesel A few months later both were in WCW.. Not a good look for WWF at the time

@@Nostalgia9478 nope. It's just an odd thing for Bobby to skip over. It literally was the hottest angle WCW ever had and frankly the only company to ever do an invasion angle well. WWE dropped the ball with both the nWo and WCW invasion.

@@geneanthony3421 It was odd that he skipped over the NWO. I will say that I thought that stuff with Nacho Man and Huckster would be more likely to push people to WCW more. But the NWO was obviously the biggest factor. He is right about Eric Bischoffs smugness though. I do think Eric probably understands somethings better now than he did back then, but he reeked of arrogance back then.

@@geneanthony3421Yes he did, that's why Stone Cold walked out of WWF at the time because of lack of creativity Plus, Austin vs. Scott Hall at WMX8 didn't make ANY sense
