@@shaneward473 100 percent! Those who pay money and expect to limit out every morning most likely have no idea what they’re doing. It’s not always about the kill. A successful hunt or fishing trip is not about the limit. It's about the memories. A real guide will do everything in their power to get you your game, but it's not always possible. You pay for the guide's experience, access to the land and equipment. I quit guiding because more and more clients wanted an easy guaranteed limit. Then when I used semi tame (ram, hogs, etc.) animals, they started complaining about it being too easy

Contact the sheriff in the county you live in and file theft of service charges. Since you are technically a self run business providing a service for a set price it’s easily documented. If they refuse to pay you that’s a cut and dry charge. Depending on the amount of money each owed, charges can be a misdemeanor or felony charge.

A few months ago I drove 6 hours to NOLA, went fly fishing for reds all day on a skiff, didn't catch a damn fish, then happily paid the man the other half of the $700 price tag plus 20% tip. He did everything he could to put the odds in our favor but the bad weather and morning tournament, both completely out of his control, messed up the fishing for us. Is what it is. The hunting and fishing guide world isn't that big and a shitty reputation as a client can pop up when you least expect it.

@@timhallas4275 No, he actually cancelled the week before because it was windy/dreary outside. The weekend he cancelled there was a redfish tournament in the Biloxi marsh, the first redfish tournament of the year following 9 months of cancelled tournaments in both Louisiana and Texas following Covid. Every guy and their brother from Texas drove to Chalmette to fish that tournament and blew out the grass. It was up to me whether I cancelled the 2nd week or not, and I didn't want to. He was very clear that the fishing was no good and the weather was not ideal. He has bills to pay, just like me, and he did his best and worked 2 hours past the 8 hours I had paid for. I'm not someone who needs another person to blame when I don't catch fish. If Bill Dance or Flip Pallot can get skunked, so can I, and it isn't the guide's fault.

I spent 33 years in law enforcement and I’ve been hunting for almost 47 years. There is one thing I always preach. NEVER screw over a fellow hunter and ALWAYS be a good steward of the land. We have enough haters out there after us. Hunters/fishermen “women” are a brotherhood/sisterhood. We need to respect each other. What they did is theft of services. Most of all they broke a sacred code. I hope they paid you, I feel bad and I don’t even know you. God will reward you and then some.

Geesh!! That's a hit man. I work for myself as a frame to finish and everything in between carpenter. Similar to your situation here I've finished a project thinking I'll square up with the customer on what's owed only to discover he/she disappeared or flat out won't pay. Unless one wants or has the means to take legal action you eat it. Most customers/clients won't pay upfront due to those bad eggs who have taken money and ran. Yet seems like everyone forgets that it goes the other way. Clients or customers pull bullshit and screw the company or provider of whatever service.

I know it saved my ass more then once in my 35 yrs in building...had one customer didn't want to pay me Construction Management fees, so put rt in contract "subcontractors by others"....then she bitched when no electricians, plumbers on job. So I asked "did you hire?" she said "no, that your job"...then I showed her the Contract, it was item number 2 in BIG LETTERS
