These late season duck/goose hunts are what keep me hunting. There is nothing better than watching your dog beat the cold and ice while putting together an awesome hunt, especially with those long retrieves. I love the late season hunts on the water.

Bobby on cold days when Fred is going to be in and out of the water a lot, bring a towel to help dry him off. Any thing you can do to keep him warm - even the little things, will only make him more comfortable and effective!

A good toweling and a buddy heater in between retrieving plus a couple good high fat feedings a day would keep Fred from getting hobbled up in his later years

Old Fred has come a long way . He really worked his butt off . A lot of nice shooting . The ducks didn`t come in down here in Florida at all this past season . Our season 2019 - 2020 gone yesterday in one of our old pits I seen probably 50 to 75 Ringers and of course the Woodies starting to check out my woody box plus my neighbors boat house he had 12 whistlers land on the top . That was a thing of beauty. Fred was a monster way beyond his age. Glad you got those last ones with the boat. He may benefit from a shot of energy mid hunt, Heater in the blind; but he was world class today. Love the shot cam too.

Great video, Fred did an amazing job. Take an old fishing net for scooping dead birds when you're in the boat. Keeps you from learning over the side of the boat and keeps your hands dry. Do this all the time on Lake Erie.

You might not read this but around where I duck hunt the most common ducks are mallards and green wing. They are so fun to hunt doesn’t matter how many you kill

Bit of a crazy and ever so slightly expensive suggestion Bobby. But why not look into booking yourself a trip out to the UK to try out how we hunt. Guided trips to Scotland and across the UK is on offer. Our season starts September 1st and ends on the 20th of February.
