For the 2016 Season, we are releasing a Special Extended Edition of the popular Stand Tune "Jig 2" as performed by the OMHS Drum Line! This version contains interviews with students and staff of the OMHS Band and asks the question, "WHAT IS JIG 2?" And we finally get the answer! In prior years we have only posted one version of Jig 2 but in this year's edition we are posting six versions of Jig 2 as they progressed throughout the season. You can post which one you think was the best! Please keep your comments clean and constructive and as always thanks for watching!

For those of you who are new to this, JIG 2 is a stand tune that is only played when our team is on defense or on offense if it's not a close game and typically in the 4th quarter. Some games they do not get to play it at all....But when they do the entire band gets into the action as these videos show. There really are no words for this you just have to be there in the stands with the students during this experience to really understand it and get the fun out of it. Since we first posted the 2011 version there have been millions of views and other bands and drummers are now playing this all over the world. It's always flattering when the opponent's band plays JIG 2 during a game. There have been thousands of comments and some criticisms about these videos over the past 6 years but the intent was and is to show a group of high school students enjoying their time together and having fun. No one has ever said these students are the best or whatever and there are many more great bands out there that could play this probably better but that is not the point. Just having a little fun in high school......Ciao! and thanks for watching!

Bob Fitzgerald I really wish this couldve been the high school i went to lol.. Too bad I'm graduating :( I've listened to this for like since it first came out and I was amazed that this has such a big impact on a band :) Jig 2 has to be, by far, one of my favorite band tunes from any marching band like ever! I do wonder though.. do they have other Cadences? or other tunes that the school enjoys? because this is the only thing I could find about this band...

Bob Fitzgerald I'm planning on introducing it to my drum line, but I have 2 concerns: I can't play the triplets, and the bass drums probably can't even play that part with quarter notes. Talk about a lack of cooperation.

My high school drumline up in Warren, Michigan plays a version of this [without the bass tonals] and the affectionate call-out is "Oak Mountain" just to avoid any confusion as to where it comes from x) We faced our district rivals in a pre-band-festival drum-off in mid-October and both of our drumlines ended up playing it at the same time, trading tenor solos every repetition and it was the most amazing experience 10/10 would recommend
