Wow, you're starting to be interested in trying Indonesian cuisine. Even though it doesn't necessarily taste the same there compared to the original taste in Indonesia, at least you know several types of Indonesian dishes. Don't miss trying recommended dishes like Rendang, Chicken Satay, Nasi Goreng, Soto and Perkedel. 😊

Boboko means Rice Basket in Sundanese language (Sunda is an ethnic group from west java and Bandung is the capital city of west java), The nice lady chef said the first owner is from Bandung, maybe that's why he named it Boboko. We'll be waiting for you to visit Indonesia Shea 😀

Rendang is #1 the best food in the world CNN version 2018, and you should try it in Indonesia. We produce by ourselves of spices and also coffee and Indonesian people are famous and experts to mix all spices become a good food. Mostly western people love our foods.

If you go to Indonesia, the price of food in Indonesia is quite cheap, you can probably spend around 200$ or 300$ a month for one person. That's even if you eat at a restaurant. And if you buy food at street food it will be even cheaper.✌️✌️

Wow even in Virginia you guys have Indonesian restaurants, but the owner not from Indonesia , uumm ... 'Boboko' is west Java language for rice big bowl basket made from wood. LA and Philly have some Indonesian restaurant, but in San Francisco not to many Indonesian restaurant anymore . To get Indonesian food , usually we're order online or do catering to our friends. That's vegetable roll more like Thai or Vietnamese roll. But don't worry when you visit Indonesia, you'll really get the authentic Indonesian food, even street food 😅 Dang, you really make me hungry, I have to go to buy banana, bye !!😂❤❤

Dari awal Saya sudah nebak, klo ini bukan kuliner asli Indonesia 🇮🇩, ini pasti malaysia, cuma pake nama Indonesia 🇮🇩. Banyak orang asing, khususnya para youtuber asing, yg ingin mencoba kuliner Indonesia 🇮🇩, tapi banyak kejadiannya seperti ini. @@picunkrafael5154pemilik restaurant sebelumnya berasal dari Bandung, tapi dikelola oleh new owner sepertinya. Di San Francisco tempat saya tinggal hanya tersisa satu restaurant yg dimiliki oleh orang Indonesia, itupun mereka menambahkan menu makanan Singapore dan Malaysia. Untungnya banyak orang Indonesia yg menjual makanan Indonesia dari mulut ke mulut atau online.

As an Indonesian who lives in NYC for more than 20 years, I honestly to say that none of the Indonesian restaurants in NYC has a great tasting I used to have when I was in Indonesia , it's just ok . Especially after the covid some of the good restaurant was permanently closed. I don't know which state this boboko restaurant. But I Hope you enjoyed it . When you visit Indonesia in the future , you may taste the original Indonesian cuisine in Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya or Bali , and you may understand what I'm saying here.

sambal is sort of condiment, like sauce, you eat it as compliment to other food, such as tempe, tofu, etc.

Oh Shea! If you had the chicken rendang with nasi lemak, you would get an 11 out of 10. Nasi lemak is rice cooked with coconut milk. There are various cooking methods, steaming with water is slower but the most delicious. Usually served with sambal and fried eggs or others but the best is with rendang or fried chicken…my favorite food too😋❤

Nasi lemak adalah sebagai kloning atau berbagai perpaduan pencocokan yang terinspirasi dari nasi uduk khas suku Betawi di Jakarta, nasi liwet khas suku Jawa, dan berbagai nasi beraroma yang dimasak dengan berbagai bumbu. Kalau saya anggap nasi lemak itu mencotoh dari nasi lemak, dan bumbu serta metode memasak hampir mirip dengan nasi uduk dari suku Betawi di Jakarta.! Jadi jika nasi uduk dicampur dengan kuah satay ayam ataupun dengan rendang original, maka rasa nya akan lebih nikmati dibandingkan dengan nasi lemak.

Sorry but i think ,indonesian food in other country is not really authentic hehe .. even in bali a lot of restaurant indonesian food cooked to adapted for foreigners' taste buds wich bcs in bali theres a lot of westerners.. go to any other island if you wanna taste the real indonesian food

Wow, thank you for trying Indonesian food! came to your channel because of thedooo and now you've given me another reason to stay! Always fun seeing non-Indonesians try Indonesian cuisine. Just a bit of tips (if you can call it that lol), i think it's easier to use spoon to scoop up the food (we do use spoons (paired with forks) rather than just a fork

Hi Shea, Spring Rolls that you had, it seems they were not Indonesian food. What I knew about Spring Rolls from INA (Lumpia) you should find Lumpia Semarang one, That's the real and genuine one from INA. There're many Indonesian foods you should try and find them at Indonesian Resto or Cafes in USA.. Enjoy !!! :) 👍😍 About Rendang, you should have Beef Rendang one (the Genuine one from Padang) instead of Chicken Rendang !😁😍
