I kinda think this would be a better movie if it focused more on the Toy Taker; considering he is its one and only leg to stand on. Just flesh out his backstory, and give him more of a reason to repent other than "he never meant to throw you away". Because, if you ask me, the fact that Toy Taker's owner was that careless, only proves his point about toys being constantly neglected!

When this aired on ABC Family, I was curious to see it. Unfortunately (or is it fortunately?) I couldn't get through it. The CGI is a bit jarring for me, and the voices . . . . some of them don't even sound close. Give me the 1964 Rudolph any time!

I saw this on DVD as a kid and enjoyed it. Looking at it now, yeah, it's got flaws, but it's not the worst thing I've ever seen. One thing that stood out to me was the villain. I love the Toy Taker's design and motivation. It's not uncommon for kids to outgrow their toys and abandon them. Also, his song in pretty catchy, even if Rick Moranis isn't the one singing.

What's with all these claims of 'ripping off' other movies? These are common tropes that have been used hundreds of times, some dating back centuries or even millennia. Just because Disney or Pixar did something similar does not mean that the idea was 'ripped off' from them.

17:05 Here's my biggest questions for that: if he was never meant to be thrown away in the first place, why didn't his owners label the box he was put in? You'd think that they would've had the sense to do that for a "family heirloom", definitely would've saved a lot of heartache. Secondly, how did kids all over the world feel when they found out their toys were missing? Considering the "Toy Taker" had that huge blimp, whose to say there wasn't a worldwide manhunt for this "mysterious" thief?

I was so sad and disappointed with the twist and end. I still side with the toy taker, Santa totally ignored his point about kids outgrowing their toys. (Also, the toy taker song was so catchy that it was the only thing I remembered about the film after not watching since I was very little, for years until I finally found it again). I never watched the first movie, so for me the plot wasn't too bad.

This is literally the first time I noticed that this movie was in CGI... the last time I saw this movie, I was 12. Also, you missed the depressing joke about the piggy bank. She's empty inside, she needs change. Lastly, most Christmas parades aren't on Christmas. Ours was on the 15th...
@ReSetAMV8 жыл бұрын
You know, for the longest time, I thought this came out around 1994-1995 because of how terrible the CGI is... But no. This movie came out in 2001... What the hell? CGI has already been mastered years before this came out.
@JacobMKeeneAKADrPepperKing Жыл бұрын
14:26 Those “roars” were taken out of context. Bumble wasn’t roaring at the Toy Taker, he was simply crying out when he was too big to fit inside the zeppelin, and couldn’t swim after it since his species sink in water. Plus, he’s been reformed from being a savage beast, so it at least makes sense.

Anyone else wish the toy taker was in the first film? I think about it. Rudolph when he’s moping around meets the toy taker, the toy taker mistakes him for one of those toys with a light up feature without a button to turn off the light, Rudolph gets captured, and escapes. And he shows up somewhere near the end saying when cram and the abominable snow man were falling he got a trampoline and that’s how they bounced(and maybe explain he’s a elf who left toy making when he saw one of the toys he made got destroyed and lost and feeling bad for the toy vows to saw all toys from that fate by taking them).

Don't you mean the villain Teddy bear's back story was the same as Hugso from Toy Story 3? Shouldn't the little girl be terrified by the fact that this stuffed bear is moving? I'd personally be worried the bear would put on yet another disguise and seek to suck up all the fresh air from the planet and zip away at ludicrous speeds to deposit it on another planet, somewhere in the Ford galaxy and just a little to the left of Jupiter 2. Everybody got that?!

May have covered this before, but... the reason the sign lets the light pass is because the characters and lights were rendered on different layers from the sign. The short explanation is: as far as the characters are concerned, that sign is just there on a green screen. Makes it easier to fix things in post, but it can also lead to some embarrassing oversights. Also, how is it you noticed the kids making out, but the piggy bank saying she wanted something to 'fill' her nonexistent 'slot' got a pass? Not to mention that baby girl apparently sleeping without a blanket, in wintertime...

The tooth fairy probably has her own set of elves or just regular fairies who don't have their wings yet. That's what I assumed and I liked this movie when I was a kid. I don't even mind the Cg because the stop motion was also awkward. I didn't get why Rudolph and Clarice de-aged because Rudolph was an adult when he was going back to Santa's workshop because everyone was an adult and probably had other things than pick on someone. Also this was made before Princess and the Frog.
