This small moment with the drunk bassist is really one of the key points in Bocchis development, along with her first meeting with Nijika and the time Ryo told her to be true to herself instead of trying to imitate what's popular when writing lyrics. Bocchi is slowly developing and improving herself.

Imo what makes Bocchi so relatable is how the characters are based around the types of people you'll meet if you're interested in live music. There are a lot of people like Kikuri who use substance abuse to overcome stage fright and they're lives are totally chaotic - but deep down they're good and are capable of profound wisdom. It gets a little jumbled in the translation, but she's basically telling Bocchi that the people around her aren't her enemies. That's a profound lesson and probably the biggest motif of the series - it literally gets Bocchi to play in public. It's not a mistake that it's delivered by the character that everyone calls a stinky drunk, the message is that even damaged and imperfect people can be agents of good.

She has courage but the audience who said good luck. Yes they need them. People need encouragement. People are lacking that.

the few seconds from 0:42 to 0:49 is probably my favourite few seconds of this entire series. The way the camera swoops around as Bocchi opens her eyes is somehow so powerful to me and it perfectly displays what social anxiety, and the little steps you can take to overcome it can feel like. I deadass can't watch this scene without tearing up a little.

The feeling of "I wanted to change" from Bocchi is what hooked me. And also the Comedy.

This moment reminds me of the first time I actually Mustered up my courage for the first time to present myself in front of a crowd. It really captured how it felt and how it usually goes for the first time you do it after years of anxiety on such a situation. Closing your eyes and focusing on something else really helps. But major help is when you realize that the chances of the crowd being an enemy to you is so low. When rather the audience would rather just see you perform.

I remember a student who I was assigned to coach for their oration contest. She was initially tense and lackluster. My advices also didn't do that much help. But my kind words that focused on what she's good at and words of encouragement clearly liven up her mood. She became a different person after hearing words that realized her good sides. The student ended up winning the tourney through practice and encouragement. I hope everyone of us could have people that could see the goodness within us or at least pump us up in times of despair like the girl who cheered Bocchi. :)))

people with true diagnosis of anxiety, ocd, depression or else, never get rid of their disorder definitely, they work with it in their unique way, with a good social support net /therapy. Don't give up and don't be afraid to look out for help, there are many that will misundertand and mistreat you, but so are those who can lend you a hand.

This is my favorite scene. The onstage live performances are hype and the music is dope but they caught lightning in a bottle here. The music, the light change when the realization hits her.

My favourite part of this show is that after Bocchi decides she wants to change she is always the driving force behind her own changes. She gets advice, encouragement and help from the people around her but ultimately she is always the one who pushes herself to be more like she wants to be

The thing is, even in the anime we never get to hear what Bocchi plays like when she has no anxiety. According to the manga, when she plays for youtube she's one of the greatest guitarists to ever live and people who know her real identity find it hard to believe they are the same person. Even the one time she tried to compose a song for the band it was so difficult the rest of the members doubted any human being could be capable of playing it.

It's so cool the amount of detail put into this anime, because Bocchi's playing does get better as she gets more comfortable and starts to break out a bit. This anime is an absolute masterpiece.

Just did a quick guitar performance to my teacher for some project and I fucked it up. I am able to play so smoothly when alone but it's like those memes about your skill dropping by an entire 50% when in front of someone is true. There's a really cool thing with this song that ties into this moment for her; the first line of every chorus starts with 「目を閉じる。。。」which means to "(I) close (my) eyes", but the final chorus swaps this for 「目を開ける。。。」, changing it to "(I) open (my) eyes"
