BOEING 707 TOUCH&GO WITH AMAZING SOUND + AN12 DEPARTURE (4K)

This Boeing 707 performed several Touch&Goes at Geilenkirchen last week. It` s crazy to see these classic Boeing 707´s operating almost daily out of an airport in germany in 2024. These Awacs planes are based at Geilenkirchen and they often do touch and go training flights to train new pilots. The characteristic smoke trail of the classic jetliner looks quite amazing in the head on perspective. Also note the massive radar on the top of the plane which allows the crew to observe the ground from high flightlevels.
I didn` t show up at the airport for the B707. An AN12 was expected to arrive from Athen and that` s why I was there. You can the see the AN12 right after the B707 clip. I always wanted to film this classic propeller plane from the "behind - the runway" - perspective and I finally did it. It was quite a smoker - parade last week in geilenkirchen. Seeing an AN12 and a B707 from the 1960`s at the same airport with a few minutes in 2024 is quite crazy. I always enjoy filming at this airport mainly because I enjoy the classic sound of the classic B707`s.

Love that distinctive drone of the AN-12, that sound travels for miles when it's overhead.

AN-12's used to fly over my area at cruising altitude. I would recognise them instantly. Even at those heights, when the frequency was just right, it would resonate, creating a quite strong vibration. The drone was a low-pitched, ever lasting, mighty sound. CAVOK doesn't cover that route much anymore, miss the twelves every day.

My parents worked for TWA and Delta, and my first time on a jet was a 707 from LAX to HNL. Seeing these old birds brings back fond memories.

The 707 is super sexy. Looks really good. If only it could be modified to be lighter, fuel efficient etc I absolutely love the wingspan!

I used to live (not close, but close enough) by an Air Force Base. Heard planes all day. And them testing engine's at night. Didn't care to hear the engines being tested but loved to watch the jets and planes

@cargospotter "allows the crew to observe the ground from high flightlevels" Not really observing the ground... AWACS radar is primarily used for detecting and controlling airborne aircraft.

The Rotor isn’t tuning so you’ll still be able to have kids. That plane was made in 1964. Still original style engines. The plane is 60 yrs old.

They are old JT3Ds. They are inefficient at burning all the fuel. (but they last forever)

old and new 707,old was better sound,the same as the old galaxy c 5 was the best engine sound ever,the new engines are bad low noise

I'm not crying, I'm making an important observation, given that it's one of the biggest efforts by aircraft manufacturers today: low carbon emission.
