I never stopped being amazed when a plane takes off.

My grandfather's first flight was in 1924 on an Imperial Airlines single-engine biplane -- a de Havilland, I believe -- from London to Paris. And his last was in 1991 on a British Airways 747 from London to New York. He died later that year at the age of 93. It's remarkable to think of the aviation history he lived through and witnessed.

I find this story false, as i cant imagine an airline would ever let a 70 year old fly let alone a 93 year old. FAA states that commercial airlines cannot employ pilots over the age of 65.

Capt B, Always like it when you’re hand-flying. Too many times pilots engage the a/p immediately. I prefer “Simple”!

Many of them are still used for cargo or are being converted for cargo. Thank God for e-commerce, Amazon and Chinese shipping becoming more and more popular. The only 747-8s Boeing still cranks out are the freighters I believe.

Check Captain! Love this video. At 1:39 you push the yoke all the way forward and then pull back towards you...wondering why? The sun off in the distance as you are taxiing is absolutely beautiful. It seems like you can always find the prettiest part of the sky for your videos. Thank you for this great video showing the sequences you go through to get from parked to airborne. 😎a🌷4U

Excited and happy. A wonderfully long video to enjoy. I truly love the chance to see and learn all the aspects involved in flying one of those magnificent planes and absolutely love seeing the takeoffs. It gives me the feeling that I'm right there in the cockpit as the plane is taxing and preparing for takeoff and when the plane starts it's takeoff wow what a great feeling it is. I can certainly see why you love flying so much. Beautiful skies and safe flying always Captain.

Wow.. those taxi light, to turn it ON, you have to press the button in direction of overhead. In other videos, i saw the crew activating in direction of the nose. It is a different configuration, i guess.

Ive often wondered in this day and age why aircraft cant use electric power to taxi like a tesla to save fuel then switch to aviation fuel for take off.
