Boeing Apache AH-64 Helicopter Start-up - Departures - Up-close with Fly-by's! - LEARN TO FLY - GET YOUR WINGS: bit.ly/35ttBYo
Watch these Apache helicopter pilots suit up and start-up for a training exercise. Definitely cramped quarters in those whirly-birds. See it taxi backwards and then depart with some great pedal turns. Next we see another departure rearward and three great low pass fly-by's. Thanks so much for watching!

@@HeliPadUSA -Yeah…That was especially true with the the CH-47 Chinook. The Apache, not so much. It became a greasy, filthy mess in the desert and caused all sorts of issues, if it accumulated. Dawn dish soap and a bucket of water worked miracles, but you had to be careful around avionics. That initial smell of the JP8 exhaust, on a cold crisp morning, as it exited the GE engines, was actually pleasant. I miss those days and especially now, with the “target rich environment “ in the Ukraine, right now. THIS was what we trained for, during the Cold War years.

I have a love hate relationship with the apache. I do like some of the upgrades on the echo model tho. Hydraulic pumps seem better although the rumble at startup is an odd thing. Does the added torque make much of a difference with flying/mission loadout?

Are there any present or former Apache pilots on here? Just curious if you have much storage for the M16 rounds since I see they both have them on board as do the Cayuse and Kiowa pilots. Seems like the Cayuse and Kiowa would be able to store more rounds as this chopper looks cramped.
@orringarn3779
@orringarn3779 6 жыл бұрын
Heli PadUSA Any additional ammo is probably carried on their person as they may have to evacuate the aircraft quickly. There is a storage area for maps and logbook in the cockpit that could be used, as most pilots I worked with preferred to store those items on top of the glare shield where they are more accessible. There is also a large storage compartment in the tail boom that can hold survival gear and additional items. Nice video!
@HeliPadUSA
@HeliPadUSA 6 жыл бұрын
Well I've been flying helo's for 12 years and I when I got to sit in an Apache 8 years that landed at KSUS that was passing though I didn't see any storage area inside as their "logbooks" are electronic as are their maps. I did see a storage area aft starboard side though.

Why don't modified this machine to carry out 100hundred million ammunition explosive for last longer support troops on the ground during fire fight or can attack enemy position without troops move in with X-ray radars .on now this thing can only provide short period support time and back for reloading
@HeliPadUSA

Because in the real world you have to worry about weight and balance and build mechanisms to store and feed a gun all of that ammo and 100 million is not even realistic...you're joking and trolling right?
