Boiling Point - A Mid 2000's Eurojank Gem

In 2005, Ukrainian video game developer Deep Shadows released Boiling Point: Road To Hell, a large open world first person shooter with role playing game elements. The game was arguably ahead of it's time and is very buggy, but in that PC Euro jank way that I love.

This game was so buggy and janky the patchlists were quite hilarious... "dogs can cast the shadows", "fruit selling lady no longer spam nades at you unprovoked", "crossbow bolts no longer can demolish militia stations" and many more... endgame is horrendous and I mean it

On the drink debate. I drink Pepsi max because I don't want to drink calories, plus it's better than no sugar coke. Normal Pepsi tastes like soap to me. BUT coke does taste better if it's cold, and Dr. Pepper is best every so often.

It was not a far cry clone at all, it’s closer to stalker (which came later) this is closer to modern far cry than the original anyway

This game was actually fantastic, it was the first game that I played that was just a broken mess but that made it so loveable just like the stalker franchise funny enough both games where made by small developer groups from Ukraine boiling point made by deep shadows and stalker by gsc who did go bust but have managed to come back to make stalker 2 probs after the fact that stalkers modding community is amazing and has brought life into those games once again in recent years

I don’t get why people think it was a far cry clone when it’s closer to stalker, people correlate the fact that both games are in a jungle, this game was amazing back in the day broken as hell but amazing load times where an actual joke though even for the time ahahah, this and stalker are 2 of my all time favourite games of all time and I think the buggy janky mess makes them so loveable, you can tell they where pushing the bounds of limitations of gaming especially when you find out just how much was cut from boiling point like a whole half of the map with 2 big towns and a small town couple outposts, these games may be janky and buggy but it just gives them personality and makes them such a draw to me
