The sad truth is, just because two people love each other, doesn't mean they're a good match... I honestly feel bad for both of them. This relationship isn't doing either of them any good. They're the most mismatched couple I can think of. But they're just stuck together because of their feelings....

Scyho Emanon todd is the surreal comic relief but he’s also so much more than that. His character develops constantly throughout the show and the audience can relate to the human in him. That’s the amazing part about the show. Every character is a caricature at first. But then they’re relateable side shows and it makes the characters connect with the audience

People don't like Diane because they don't understand her. Every one keeps making shallow statements about how horrible she is, but you just don't understand what it's like to be her. She's a specific character that resonates with certain people, just like every character.

I didn't like MPB for a long time because he seems to be so blind of other people's misery and just sees what he wants to see. He acts so nice but is so ignorant at some parts that it really pisses me off. But now I have the theory that MPB and Bojack both represent different kinds of depression. Bojack is chronically depressed and keeps ruining everything because he believes he is a piece of shit and deserves getting punishment. Therefore all of his actions will lead him to fail at everything he does. MPB represents the manic depression. He is so extremely happy, energetic and joyful but also extremely careless, never thinks of his actions, often appears blind and ignorant to other people's misery because that's how he escapes from harsh reality. This is just my personal theory. And as someone who dealt with depression for many years I can tell that depression has many different faces

Beemanq But I think a lot of the time he isn’t joyful at all, just pretending to be. Then he gets sucked up into the character of all of it and eventually when it hits him again, all joy flees. Sure, depression is characterized as the lack of joyfulness, but not necessarily the lack of fake joyfulness-just look at Robin Williams. There are times I think Mr. Peanutbutter is far more depressed than Bojack, but he’s very good at masking it with layer upon layer of fake smiles and happiness, and we just don’t see enough of Mr. PB by himself in order to confirm or deny this. Also, I don’t think you should be saying Blankeye-Sigma was trying to sound smart when he/she clearly just misunderstood the meaning of a singular term

So true. Diane may not know what she wants, but she also knows exactly what she DOESN'T want. And yet MPB just keeps doing exactly what she always tells him she doesn't like. That's why I love this show. Each character is a genuinely amazing character. No character is given more time than another, hell even bojack in several episodes has little to no screentime and he's the name of the show. Each character is organic and I love it, each person is flawed and has their own issues and they work through it in each of their own ways. No character in the cast is just brushed aside as a joke or as a static character. Each character is the same but goes through many changes. Todd is always the dense fool he has been but realizes that his needs come first and he can't love someone else until he loves himself. Bojack struggles with his depression and is always the depressed and egotistical person he is but he learns to accept that and grow from it. The list goes on and I love this show for that reason.

The sad truth is everyone on this show is flawed. Because while they write everyone to be funny, they are not just writing a character, they are writing a person. And people are flawed. All of us. That's what makes people love this show. Because we not only see the flaws of the cast but we see them at their worst. We see how they got there. @Rise654876 жыл бұрын
I disagree, i don't think their problem is their love of each-others, because i believe they genuinely loves each-others I think the problem lies in their respectives needs, what they want from the other MPB just want Diane to be happy, and he's willing to do anything to do so, but by doing that he's failing at understanding her because he often give her what she wanted but not what she wished for, and he give her way much attention as she simply want to be loved without being too restricted or feeling overwhelmed MPB is pretty simple, he simply want the one dears to him, to be happy, that's pretty much all the only thing he expect from a relationship He take great considerations in his partner needs, and what they want from him He's expecting nothing from his partner, except to be loved and the occasional show of attention Diane on the other-hand, aspire for a stable relationship, with very little changes because she can't handle things when they don't go as she expected, she need someone to understand her and just show his support when she need it, instead of having someone constantly trying his best to make sure she have everything she ever asked She's not really materialistic, and she want to be happy on a deeper psychological level Actually, that's the point made by the end of season season 4 They can't go on anymore because MPB is tired of always trying his best to give satisfaction to Diane while never actually managing to make it so And Diane is tired of getting things she simply wanted instead of being understand by MPB, and getting his support It took great efforts to both of them to actually manage to stay-together and the talk at the end of season 4 was bound to happens sooner or later You can't always support someone, sometime the other is going to do something you don't want to do, and it will be impossible to give the support he/she need Just like the gun épisode, even if MPB is actually pretty fucking nice and go along with a lot of bullshit, it was too much for him, and he couldn't accept it But Diane couldn't understand why he didn't show his support, she knew it was because he dosn't like guns, but she still took it personnally The kind of relationship Diane want, is a relationship based on understanding and mutual-support But the thing is, she probably never thought of the bad sides of such a relationship, and it's probably gonna bite her in the ass if she ever get into this kind of relationship For exemple, a relationship based on understanding is also a relationship lacking control on each-others Since you're both gonna do things on your own while expecting the other one to understand, it will be hard to say "no" anymore to something you don't want your partner to do Because you will be expected to show support and understanding, even if you disagree with what your partner is doing Ironically, i think Diane would be better with Bojack, because even if he's can be complete asshole sometimes, he actually understand her and give her support That's probably why when things go sour, she want to talk to Bojack, because he can understand her, and he actually showed his support many-times He's also smart enough to understand when things are not personnal, since he can be such a asshole, he can also understand when peoples do things he dosn't like So even when someone do something bad to him, he dosn't always take it personnally and he never try to stop the personn even if he think they're going too far But even if their relationship would probably give somes satisfaction to Diane The problem with Bojack, is how egoist he is, he always go out of his way to defend himself from everything that can hurts him When he's scared of developing feelings for someone he simply diabolize them, avoid them, control his emotions, or simply completely cut the person out of his life When he feel lost in life, he always try to get himself in a bad situation to forget his feeling of emptyness/sadness, like drinking, trying to occupy his mind with others-things And when nothing works anymore, he simply cut himself from the world for somes times, and then come back again when he either feel bored, or when he feel safe That's pretty fucking sad, but Diane, like Bojack, will never be happy Their standards are way too high for both of them, and their personalities works against them It's really sad to say, but no-one will ever really understand you, the only one who can understand you is yourself We can only understand someone to a certain point, and the same goes for giving support and receiving support Cold, depressing, and harsh, harsh reality That's the whole fucking show in a nutshell

It's so weird how people fault diane specifically when legitimately every character in the show does shitty things. Yeah, she has a lot in common with Bojack and rarely faces up to it, so what? She clearly feels so alone. i understand that some people love Diane and relate to her ... but this is by FAAAAR not the best scene AT ALL !!! the bojack scenes are all the best .... especially when he tells the charlotte that he loves her ... or when he gets caught ... or when bojack cries

Ho god, I do not like Bojack. I love every character in the show, but him. He's just so annoying! While everyone around him grows and changes, he... Doesn't.
@carmena.gonzalezrios83725 жыл бұрын
One of the best scenes is from season 3 when Bojack just finished filming a really emotional scene from Secretariat but was unable to fully act it (he was supposed to cry) because he is incapable of doing it in front of people, when he gets out of the building -to smoke a cigarette- where no one is watching the first thing he does is cry

I feel like Mr. peanutbutter is the quantum idiot/philosopher and I’ve always seen him as the polarity opposite of BoJack; not as a foil or even to make us as viewers see either as better, worse, or having a monopoly on being the character who ____ more than the other, but in ways BoJack isn’t a completely devoid being cause he wants to be good and wants to be better even if he fails and then gets nihilistically drunk and literally drunk on his own and family demons... All the while interacting with the world trying to get love with toxins. MPB, seems to be too dumb to deserve to be happy and misery almost seems to never touch him despite two divorces and clearly that meant he had to go through two failing relationships that went to marriage and he did it a third time and none of his wives are the same... Not because MPB doesn’t seem to know what he wants... Because he doesn’t want as hard as everyone else, if anything that’s probably why he comes off badly to some people due to this sharp contrast of his lack of unhealthy dedication to his dreams and desires and flaws like the others. We see MPB and even Todd as characters who are living in the “Now” and don’t seem to be planning the future but aren’t just shackled by their past or what they think their futures should be. Diane, is probably beautiful to MPB cause, she hurts with what she feels is such earnest intent and wants idealistic things on a more detailed way but I don’t think too dissimilarly to MPV that just wants happy and good but doesn’t over invest himself into it... while seeming to put himself entirely into anything he does without any emotional guarding at all. That lack of emotional guarding in MPB is what sharply contrasts him as a Chump in the Bojack world I think in a metaphorically similar way that Ned Flanders is the good hearted chump of the Simpsons ... except MPB well is in Nihilist Town.
