Generally speaking, people have no idea how good a guitarist this guy is.

Chuckie von Chuckerman I think people know PRS and Fender have his signature models, KZfaq is filled with videos how to sound like him (guitar and pedals) So no, people know how good he is

The general public may not but every guitarist does . Eric Clapton called him a master! there is no greater praise available he has maxed out

People definitely know. At least, the musicians all know. The regular folks may not know exactly how good he is at guitar because they focus on his albums more (which are also great)

I do know he is a mediocre guitarist. He will admitt that himself.

Wonder how many people that are there are aware it's a Hendrix song. I was with a group of friends one night that said this was their favorite Mayer song and I could feel my jaw drop. He does a great cover for sure though. I'm glad he dropped the goofy speech in the middle trying to do what Stevie Ray used to do.

Yes, but how many people think 'Hey Joe' and 'All Along The Watchtower' are Hendrix tunes and 'Twist & Shout' is a Beatles tune? I suppose we should be that Mayer keeps the Hendrix and SRV thing alive and does both very well, with the passion and skill they deserve (even if I'm not a fan of that side of what he does). It's all about keeping the music alive. And yes, the goofy speech had to go. But hey, gotta give the guy a gold star for making the effort.

@willmidgley66814 жыл бұрын
@@xandermohan6331 I agree - I find mayers version more listenable. That's not to say jimis isn't incredible, I just find that mayers flows a bit nicer, and John's voice and vocal style really suits the song. Mayers live versions are better than the sudio for BAL, whereas imo Jimi was the other way round.

the arrangement is a little different, but I like this. just a few feet away from where Mayer is standing, is where the old Garden, where Jimi played at least twice, stood. I only wish I was there. JM gets a bad rap for covering the West coast Seattle boy. it can't be easy. and the recording itself doesn't do Mayer justice. it lacks clarity.

Hum hum .....This is a very simplified version of " Bold as love " , a song written by Jimi Hendrix ,i'm sorry to tell everybody there that when Jimi died in 1970 , he let the door he had locked at Monterey closed ....You can scratch the door but be careful : your nails , the door is made with some metal , which is not of this world ....
@doriandecout21337 жыл бұрын
@iBaby23Jordan7 жыл бұрын
@doriandecout21337 жыл бұрын
@doriandecout21337 жыл бұрын
et bon son jeu propre il l'a pas perdu en voyant "move in on or .." il en fait ce qu'il en veut de sa guitare ...
@iBaby23Jordan7 жыл бұрын
@doriandecout21337 жыл бұрын

There's something about 'Bold as Love' that doesn't sound right to me. It just doesn't get to the point. It sounds out of tune every time I hear it... even with Mayer playing it. Maybe I'll understand it better as I mature in my guitar playing.
