On the altiplano, the high plateaux of Bolivia, the country's second largest lake, has recently disappeared, what remains is a salt desert where Lake Poopó once was. This has already had major consequences for the locol people and the biodiversity of the area.

Is the land not able to be cultivated due to the lack of water (or salt contaminated) or do they not own the land or have rights to it?

they should be boycotting the mine instead of working there

If only the government would enforce some environmental standards to the working mine. This film is so sad for many reasons.

So how will they work? The lake already dried, they don't have the luxury of going where they want when they want to work or taking vacations
