I wish I had been there to enjoy this outstanding performance, live; a Gala so full of great talent and what allows us to appreciate the wonderful world of the BALLET...gracias Madrid for the taping and I so appreciate this from St Lous, MO, USA...just delicious and grande!!

Uliana Lopatkina is beautiful to watch. She brings me to tears everytime with her mesmerizing dance and the orchestra is just melancholic.

The Serenata blows me away everytime. This is the third version I've seen and props to the camera man for getting some of the close ups of their faces. They must be emotionally drained after than performance let along the dancing.

The first dancer Anastasia, really enjoyed. Osipova is only dancer that can make me like modern, always good.

Eccezzionale quello che con un mio neologismo mi piace chiamare convolo aereo ed elanista della ballerina ottimamente indotto e tenuto dal partner complicato da rotazioni aeree di difficoltà massima ed eseguite con disarmante non chalance esecutiva d'acchito. Ottima la fibrillazione dei passi sulle punte in veloce eundo della ballerina fino alla lene e defibrata caduta nella figuralita ' della morte del cigno da ricordare per mirabile levità. Superlativi.Bighin Giulio Renzo. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

Anastasia Kolegova of Mariinsky Theatre dances the Russian Dance that was composed by Tchaikovsky as a part of Swan Lake. Unfortunately, you rarely see it in any Swan Lake production nowadays.

Some highly competent dancing in evidence here. Thanks for that. Sadly the work of Lopatkina, one of the world's greatest ballerinas has been edited out.

Anastasia's "Corsaire" variation is not from this pas. It is what we see today from the Soviet Ponomarev 1941 version of La Bayadere Grand Pas. Again. Not Petipa. The slave character, Ali, is also not Petipa. It was added in the 1940's by Chabukiani.

cool,thank you. sadly they cut Zakharova, Chudin and some other good dancers but of those who ~survived~ after montage my favourites were ELENA EVSEEVA and YURI SMEKALOV! Looking beautifuly they danced it so well and with such wonderful emotion as it supposed to be.

Don Quixote was not also notated. There's no record that I know of the color Kitri's tutu was in the last act. The ballet has basically been passed by was of Bolshoi's end of the century choreographer Gorsky. Again...not Petipa either here.

The Russian Dance by Kolegova didn't even make it to Petipa in 1895, and as such...it is not notated. Nowadays it is inserted here and there, either as a National dance-(Grigorovitch/Bolshoi)- or even as a Rothbart variation-(McKenzie/ABT).

Todos os bailarinos são excelentes. Mas o cenário é lamentável. Toda a história é pra ser vista porém na escuridão é impossível. Toda a técnica e capacidade dos exímios bailarinos foi bastante prejudicada na minha opinião. Merecem ser vistos nos mínimos gestos, pois dão a vida por pequenos momentos. Amo a dança e por isso, tudo importa num paulco. A cenografia não pode estar em primeiro plano. E o BALLET em segundo, terceiro .... apesar de tudo eles são especialíssimos parabéns.

spring waters is may be an oldfashioned work that today can appair weird but must be performed in all his glorious athleticism or is better not perform it ,here is all wrong from the costumes to the revised useless choreograpy and to the wrong style.
