they doing the song i standard tuning instead of down a halft step. i think if they tune the song down a half step i would be easier for Jon to hit that high note. They started tuning thier instruments down a half step in 1989 just because of Jons voice after it was damage in 1987.

wickedgit Any clue what happened to his voice? apart from the obvious "aging" reasons. It's normal to loose some of your voice along the years, but his case is quite hard to understand.

Bruno Verdú It was damaged because he was touring a lot and belting out notes. He doesn't have the tone has here anymore because he uses vocal techniques to reach the notes he could hit easily here.

Yeah, actually original song was recorded in a very high tone (not sure if the same as this performance though) . It's a difficult song to sing live, so , I guess that nowadays they lower a couple of tones so John can sing it!

Dude, these notes are freaking ridiculous. Although, I think Jon deserves more credit than some of the previous commenters are giving him; I saw Bon Jovi in 2013 (my very first live concert), and he sang the last chorus from Livin' On a Prayer without issue. Those notes are certainly higher than the ones here. I'd say it's the simply longevity of the notes in this song that are challenging. Hanging out in the upper register like that is exhausting.

+Marc Mich They most certainly are. Check your facts. The highest note Jon sings in the choruses of 'Always' is a B5. The highest note he sings in the choruses of 'Livin' On a Prayer' is a C5--not including the last, transposed chorus, in which he hits an ungodly high Eb5 several times.

Anyone thinks Chris Hemsworth looks a little like Jon Bon Jovi in his prime, ? OMG what a great voice, amazing performer and very attractive too. If they make a movie about Bon Jovi Chris Hemsworth should totally portray Jon. But they should make it soon. I mean Chris is still super hot but he is in his 40s so Hollywood should hurry up to make this movie snd choose Chris in the lead role, he already did great as James Hunt now doing Bon Jovi would give him the prestige he needs as an actor.
