This is the first reuse-able film camera I have ever bought. Came across your video just after purchasing it because I wasn’t sure if I made a good choice but I’m so glad I got it. Super excited to try it out! Thanks for the helpful tutorial :0)

The pictures look awesome. I actually wanted to order that camera too, but the shipping costs for international shipping were absolutely unreasonable ( much more expensive than the camera itself ). So, I guess, I will wait until it is in the stores.

You're my favorite channel for reusable cameras! I love how thorough you are with the review of the cameras even down to how to load and unload the film, it really helps increase my confidence in using one. I even bought 2 Agfaphoto reusable cameras bc of your channel (one for me and the other as a gift to my little cousin who's getting into photography). This was the most helpful video I've seen on the Reto as I never figured out why it was called Ultra Wide and Slim (oxymoron much? XD) Another great one Bon! Looking forward to more of your videos :D

Really tempting camera. I’ve kind of craved the Lomo La Sardina for a while, which has similar specs, but the sample images I’ve seen from the UWS blow it away in image quality. For a plastic fixed focus lens, that is. On top of that, the UWS is a lot slimmer and more pocketable, and (once you get past the shipping costs) less than half the price.
@Bonsees
@Bonsees 2 жыл бұрын
I actually have the la sardina for over a year now, I just haven’t used it haha 😂 but I’m thinking of busting it out so I can make a video. The big difference is that La Sardina has a removable flash, which some people want especially since the wide focal length would be nice to have indoors

@@Bonsees I must say the XA is one of the best 35mm I’ve used. I call it my little Leica, probably because I wish I had a Leica but it’s damn good. Certainly has its own character. Sometimes there’s a mean vignette, but sometimes I’m blown away by what’s achievable with this thing.

I was so excited until you said that it does not have a flash :( Primarily I use a film camera to take photos when I'm partying so a wider field of view would be perfect but the missing flash is obviously a deal breaker.
@Bonsees
@Bonsees 2 жыл бұрын
Aww yeah, that’s understandable~ I think part of why they got this to be this small is by removing the flash, but yeah, it’s just an outdoors camera 😅 wide angles indoors would be great though!

Depends on what you wanna do with film photography in the long run. I touch on this a bit on my Q&A video, but if you wanna be serious with film photography, I’d say start with something like a mechanical SLR (I started with a Minolta SRT 202 with a 40mm lens). Though these plastic cameras are also good for just trying out film photography, or for casual shooting. The Reto UWS doesn’t have a flash though so if you want a film camera you can bring to parties and such, I’d say get a different one like an Agfa photo, ilford Sprite, or a point and shoot

I'm not the biggest fan of wide angle lenses on any camera, but this camera is a great way to get into analog film photography (although there are 2nd hand film cameras for as low as 70€ from at least 3 online shops in Europe). My biggest concern would be that it won't last long. Especially the film rewind crank handle.
@Bonsees
@Bonsees 2 жыл бұрын
I understand~ the film rewind crank is a stress point and I’m not sure how much it can take. It also varies between cameras. But for what it’s worth, I own a flimsier Lomography simple use camera since 2018 and it still works 😅

I'm trying to decide which camera to get as my first 35mm film camera and have been eyeing the Kodak options, mainly the M35/38 but also the newest Ultra F9. Not sure if the extra money is really worth it for the Ultra F9 or if it's just the aesthetic of the camera case. Any updates on when you'll be releasing your video on it? Also would love to hear what your experience is with the M36 or M38 after some time, as the only bad reviews I see are people complaining the flash not working or the film reel getting stuck. I've been using fujifilm polaroids for the past 6 years and want to try out some film camera photography as I really like the aesthetic of them
@Bonsees
@Bonsees 2 жыл бұрын
I just finished testing the Ultra F9 so maybe in the next 2 videos 😅 but to give you some insight, I don’t think it’s worth more than the M35 or M38. It’s pretty much the same, just different aesthetics. I don’t test the flash strength though. I’d assume the F9 has the same flash as the M38. My M35 and M38 still works after a year, No problems with jamming or flash. granted I don’t use them everyday.

HI👋,Do I need the film counter to reach 1 before I can take a picture? I took 10 pictures but the counter only reached between 6 and 9
@Bonsees
@Bonsees 2 ай бұрын
That’s ok. Depending on how much of the film was exposed to light while you were loading it, the photos before 1 can still show but they might have light leaks or those “first of the roll” effect where half of the photo is blank.

@Bonsees

I’d say it’s best for outdoors unless you have a well lit interior and a high speed film. It doesn’t have a flash, and from my experience using these kinds of cameras in-doors, you kinda need a flash for it to be good

HELP ME: i just bought mine and after takkng a couple shots i accidentally pressed the rewind button... I didn't scrolled the film back and the counter keeps showing me the amount of clicks I did before pressing that button... I would like to know if I can still using this same roll or if I probably lost all pics I took once I didn't scrolled it back after accidentally pressing the rewind button... Also I'm goin on a special trip soon and I still having some poses in this roll, but at same time i don't wanna risk myself keep using it and ended up losing all my shots! Btw really useful video! Thanks for the content! ✨
@Bonsees
@Bonsees Жыл бұрын
Oh no 🙀 you’ve lost the pics… JK! You’re ok. You can continue using the same roll. The rewind button just loosens the winding gear so you can easily rewind the film back to its canister. If you advance the film to the next shot, the rewind button should pop back out and you can continue taking photos. Have fun shooting! 😄

How do I know when i take a picture? I have the camera but when I push the button after I loaded the film nothing happens?
@Bonsees
@Bonsees 2 жыл бұрын
You have to make sure the shutter is cocked to be able to take a photo. To do that, you have to turn the film advance wheel until it stops and you can’t turn it anymore. Then you can take a photo. You have to this every time you want to take a photo. The film counter will show how many photos you’ve taken so far

@Bonsees
@Bonsees 2 жыл бұрын
Do you mean you can only take up to 15 shots and you have to rewind the film Or do you shoot up to 36 photos but only get 15 back from the photolab? If it’s the former, your camera might be faulty If it’s the latter, check your negatives, if there are blanks, maybe it was too dark for the camera when you took some photos
