Hi, I was just wondering what do you do if you are given overall energy change and have to calculate missing value in table. i dont understand it

Hi, I'm not sure how well this will translate over text but I will do my best! Overall Energy Change = Reactants - Products If you are missing a value for one of the reactants, work out the total energy of the reactants, using the OEC and what you worked out for the products. Let's say the question says the OEC is +100, and you work out the products add up to 900. OEC = Reactants - Products so: 100 = Reactants - 900 That means the reactants must be 1000. Work out the rest of the bonds for the reactants, and whatever is left up to 1000 is your missing bond. So if everything else adds up to 874, your missing bond must be worth 126. I hope that helps!! 😂🙂
