Sometimes people will wade in waist deep water and a rip will take the sand right out from under them. If I couldn’t swim and I went to the beach with a group I would at least wade in the water.

Sanddab Z if there is a shallow end that you can easily stand in then I say go ahead and get in. Obviously there aren’t rips, but in some pools, there is that slippery slanted part that goes from shallow to deep. I had a friend who couldn’t swim and they slipped off the edge and struggled to get back to the shallow part, but they had fun swimming none the less. That’s kind of like that

The sea bottom, even in the shallows, where there is breaking surf can change drastically while one is simply standing there. It’s not like a pool or a lake, one has to be aware of the hazards - holes, troughs, snags, bars, currents, rocks, and heavy surf. Takes respect and experience to become even vaguely competent. There are KZfaq videos of these same idiots feeding the grizzly bears or patting the tigers. I seriously wonder if we are damaging our collective IQ by saving these people.

I absolutely loved H! Hope he's enjoying retirement with his lovely wife. I know many these episodes are older, but they're a joy to watch. The Bondi life guards do a wonderful job especially in light of all the communication barriers, and just people not listening in general.

Harries and H are just legends....pure and simple. Veteran guards who are very set in their ways, because they work. Harries is easygoing and really funny (especially to his own self) and H is just an ass kicker. Both extremely effective and fun to watch.

Hey Bondi Nation and Bondi rescue fans! I love watching bondi rescue at home! I love swimming and surfing (it’s my passion) and I’ve been learning mandarin for many years now, so Bondi rescue has really motivated me to help people and I want to work at Bondi one day!

ok, that "shark attack" dude.... honestly, he looks like a person with addiction and I knew from the start there's no way in hell him being attacked by a shark story is true! I know you don't "judge the book by its' cover" and all...but some people with addictions and homeless totally have "the look"..and him and his girlfriend definitely look it..

Sometimes I feel like yelling at laughing patients isn't ok; some people laugh when they're in shock or scared.

Yeah like I understand that the guard was quite stressed out and upset, but he should really learn to restrain himself a bit and to recognize that there’s a lot more nuance to people’s reactions than just “laughing = not taking things seriously.” It definitely seemed that the man and his friends were laughing out more out of shock and emotional overwhelm than them actually finding the situation humorous. Tbh I’d probably do the same if I’d almost drowned
