Thank you, Avijeet. We are a two-person team. We test, cook, film and edit everything ourselves. We will definitely plan a video for how to clear bigger prawns, but it might take a while to put together. Thanks for the suggestion!

The vein is on the opposite side, the top portion of the shrimp that you removed was the intestines. The vein line is on the opposite side and is blue in color.

It is always advisable to take that stuff out by pressing the head near the eye area. I can't skip that part in my cleaning routine. You are right.

You could make the stock and make a soup adding some seasoning and lots of coriander leaves immediately. It will taste awesome. U cud add some mushrooms too. I too don't like to store cooked non vegetarian in fridge.

Just the stock may be a little too potent and lacking in dimension. You could use it to make soup or a bisque.

brilliant....but one question ,. when I choose to snip off the head from the body.... some brownish black liquid comes out.. but in this case , you left the head intact.... is it ok to eat that brownish black liquid left inside .. want to understand whats that actually . plzz help 😊

+Priya Dayal Hi Priya, if the shrimp is fresh, then the brown, sometimes orange, or green stuff in the head is actually the hepatopancreas. The colour simply depends on the diet the shrimp was on. It is perfectly safe to eat. In fact it will add to the overall shrimp-y flavour of the dish you are cooking. It's not the vein... It's the nervous system of prawn.. Which is on the dorsal side of prawn

Right. Depends on the recipe though. Bengalis put chopped up shrimps in many vegetable dishes. So the shell has to be removed.

Yes, cleaning any fish, or prepping any ingredient for final cooking/eating, takes time and effort, irrespective of who is doing the work.
