Non tutti sanno che... la splendida Jean Seberg morì suicida, per overdose di barbiturici, dopo aver lasciato un breve biglietto d'addio ("Forgive me. I can no longer live with my nerves"). Jean Seberg è sepolta nel Cimitero di Montparnasse. Una teoria del complotto afferma che la Seberg fu assassinata dalla CIA a causa del suo sostegno alle Pantere Nere.

I've watched this clip about 20 times now. I can't recall any other woman who mastered the camera (and her own self) like Jean Seberg, other than Greta Garbo. It is bewitching and haunting, and it just makes me weep from the sheer art that came from the depth of her beautiful soul.

With the voice of Juliette, the face of Jean, and that music . . . c'est la vraie atmosphère, my dears-it's what there is none of in today's movies. (Money's so much more important than art, tu sais?) Resnais is gone, the singers all like "upbeat" numbers, and there's nothing good on television.

This is a file we saw at The High last month from the Films from New York. I wish there had been more discussion with people after the film. The black and white and then the color segments and the sound was interesting.

La vie peut sembler rien qu'une grande douleur dans le cul . . . on s'agace de tout, mais il y a des images comme ceçi qui élèvent et transformer les expériences jusqu'au niveau d'un bel art.
