Күн бұрынRemember that time back in December 1987 when Bonnie Langford dropped in at the Pink Windmill for a bit of a dance, and somehow the pop culture of an entire decade was perfectly distilled into a single clip of less than a minute? Well, someone asked me to upload it in isolated form, so here we are. Incidentally, fans of Bonnie may be interested in this other rare clip of her on my channel:

Bonnie’s really got the moves! Nice to see my two main interests meet: she guest starred on Wide World, and she was on Masked Dancer! (I watch lots of the international versions ✨)

She’s nearly 60 and she can still do splits and high kicks. My advice if think it’s amazing; don’t get jealous… Get training!!! Because you can to if you believe in yourself.

Are you blind? She looked exactly like this when she was in 'Doctor Who'. She joined the TARDIS in 1986 and that is the same year this episode of 'Emu's Pink Windmill' went out...

Bonnie can still dance like that to this day! This show was actually where I first heard a lot of hit songs, like "Working In a Coal Mine" and a strange one that seemed to have the lyrics; "Wake me up, destroy the cocoa." How naïve I was!

Me, too - so many songs I would likely never have heard otherwise if not for this show. (Working in the Coal Mine is in one of very few episodes we're still looking for - hopefully it will show up soon.)

Not as far as I know. This video is the longest version that's available of the tune from the start, and I think this clip is the longest that goes to the end of the tune: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nLB7m8eLtbvTlXU.htmlm1s But there's still a middle chunk missing...

VideotapeFTW what about ratings // viewing figures. I would like to know what they were from 84 - 88 as it would be very interesting. Haven't found anything online yet

+Matt James I've been searching and searching for viewing figures, but have come up completely blank. They only seem to publicise the real ratings winners, which is invariably some film shown around Christmas or New Year and so tells us nothing. Children's television is even harder...

Now you mention it, I don't think so. I used to have them all neatly listed in my playlists, but KZfaq removed that feature. I usually mention those details in the video descriptions, though.

Yep - broadcast in December 1987, probably shot in late summer or early autumn that year.

bonnie langford may well be an annoying ginger bird who is far too happy for her own good, but you have to admit that shes the sort of person who would get the most stiff and unmoving person up and dancing before you had any idea of what was happening, and not only was she at least for a time during the 80s my doctor who companion, just watching this clip also seems to show that she was well fit as well, in more ways than one, what a body, and the man who was taking her home was one lucky man indeed.
