This was on the jukebox when I met my beloved husband. Sadly, he died last year. This song brings me great sadness and joy.

2023❤ My husband and I met in the first grade in 1980 on the first day of school. He’s white and I’m brown… we never said anything about our obvious crushes on each other because we were in Mississippi and racial tension was too high. 42 years later he found me on Facebook in October 2022… 2 months later we eloped and everyone on Facebook from high school is surprised ! But very supportive! This song reminds me so much of my husband and I. I love you Che’ Nethery for my whole entire lifetime ❤❤❤🎉🙌🏽🙏🏽

This song encapsulates the fun, carefree, sunny, prosperous decade of the 90s in America. Bill Clinton was in the White House, a lot of people were getting very rich in the stock market, and Bonnie Raitt’s fantastic, nasty, gut-churning slide geetar funk blues music was all over the radio.

I lost my mom a few months ago way too early also. When I was a kid she would blast this song driving with the top down in her cherry red mustang while we sang along. Now everytime I play it I feel her essence as she dances in the Heavens. I'm forever grateful for this song. Thank you Bonnie for this masterpiece, and the connections it's created.

The new generation can't sing or make music. They make loud noises and scream. If it would not be for the computer-age, they would be homeless. This new generation call themselves "artists". In fact, they are a bunch of "wanted be politicians or a voice for the lefties". That is the reason why this new generation do not appreciate the music of thar time, full of talented and dedicated professional musicians.

I don’t know why I choose to look up Bonnie Raitte videos tonight. I know her music from my childhood but never thought much about it. I’ve watched 3 videos so far and there’s something that brings a tear to my eye. Not for the reason some might think though. See…I’m someone immersed in study. I spend my days studying history, religion, and politics. I grew up in the early 1990s. My country has changed. The thing that brought a tear to my eye was watching these videos reminded me when everyone was proud to be an American. A time when we weren’t divided. A time when we celebrated our culture and history and had real conversations with each other. I’m exhausted with trying to convince my fellow Americans who have lost their fucking minds that they have diverted down a path of no return. I’m truly tired of the lunacy. I wish people would get back to how things were.

@junkyardhero5202Ай бұрын
Check her live album cover of cant find my way home by Blind Faith from the 70s and angels from montgomery cover by John Prine. As to what you said about the lunacy of modern America one perk is people no longer care if you are different. I live old school it's a choice. We cant have it both ways and main reason a stay on the internet is music. I drive old cars and listen to old music. I live part time off grid cook on a wood stove and pack buckets of water and garden. I don't have to do any of these things but feel if I drift too far towards modern convenience and thinking I start losing purpose.
