To mark the end of the month I’m releasing another bonus episode! This is a conversation I had in my previous podcast Don’t Ignore the Elephant which was hugely popular and I think could help you too. It’s all about sex, and I’m in conversation with sex expert Sam Evans - aka Sam Talks Sex.
After Annice’s episode on the menopause, I had so many questions about sex and intimacy, and a lot of your queries are answered in this show. We cover sexual health, sexual pleasure, why lube is your best friend and how to learn to be intimate again when cancer has stolen your sex drive. I had emails from women crying tears of happiness after listening the first time, thanking me for letting them know they’re not alone. I hope it can do the same to you.
Follow Sam on Instagram here (www.instagram....)
And find out more about Jo Divine here (www.jodivine.com/)
******
If you’ve got a question for me for season two, then please get in touch online or send me a voice note. You can find me on social media (see below), or e-mail me at hello@oriordan.co.uk .
If you want to find out more about breast cancer whilst you’re waiting for the next series to drop, you can watch the videos on my KZfaq Channel ( / @drlizoriordan ) or read my book ‘The Complete Guide to Breast Cancer: How to Feel Empowered and Take Control’
If you’re nosey and want to find out more about my life, my memoir ‘Under The Knife’ - is available in all good bookshops.
You can follow me on social media for regular updates - Instagram ( / oriordanliz ) , Twitter ( / liz_oriordan ) and Facebook (www.facebook.c...)
Finally, if you loved the show and want to help other women like you find it, you can leave a 5-star review wherever you get your podcasts, or you can show your support to help keep the show going and buy me a coffee here (www.buymeacoff...) .

Wow!! Yes, I would love to hear more. I have not had intercourse with my husband in three years since my diagnosis and very sad. I’ve tried laser treatments to help but nothing seems to work. I’ve tried different lubricants I tear when I wipe to go pee even or at least it feels that way this has been so helpful. I’m definitely going to her website I already have some sort of dilation type of to help but I just started using them. I’ve had them for probably six months lol this is really motivated me. Thank you so much!

This is not talked about in the community but it should be. It's a taboo even in breast cancer support groups. I feel completely unattractive & that's a real issue for me. BTW Davina McCall & "Dr" Louise Newson are like this 🫂

I am a cancer patient and have had a right sided full mastectomy with axillary lymph node dissection . I must say that my male surgeon and male oncologist have treated me with the utmost respect. My acupuncturist was/ is wonderful, she has treated many women with breast cancer.unfortunately I have had healthcare providers make tasteless remarks and to my shock it was FEMALE providers who made derogatory remarks. My former ( first) oncologist gave a deep discouraged sigh after doing an exam and said " At least you aren't obese..". I needed physical therapy after surgery due to cording and one day out of the blue started chanting" you're out of shape..your out of shape ..." Then she remarked on how she thought my triceps had deteriorated with age. In total shock I stared at her and she thought better of what she was doing. At the time I was 67 years old and at 5 feet 4 inches I weighed 128 pounds and was in the middle of chemotherapy. Thinking over these incidents I have decided that in the future I would tell th offending person that they are out of line. No one who calls themselves a medical professional has the right to make any derogatory remark about a patients body, especially if they are lying partially clothed on an exam table . A cowardly and cruel act. I try to concentrate on the providers who have been profession and kind. I have let student doctors observe when my surgeon aspirated some seromas that formed after my surgery and they couldn't have been nicer falling all over themselves to help me up and get dressed.

Hi : I did leave a comment but since it seems to have disappeared. I'm in the USA and have had aright mastectomy and right lymph node dissection. I must say that both my surgeon, the oncologist I eventually chose were warm , friendly and supportive. Unfortunately not everyone was like that. One was an MD and one was a physical therapist . No who calls themselves a medical professional should be making derogatory remarks about your partially clothed body while you are lying on an exam table. At 5 feet 4 inches 125 pounds and 67 years old I was subjected to someone who said " at least you are not obese..." . Someone else said in ataunting tone that" your out of shape". A cruel thing to inflict on anyone. To my shock it was two women who were inappropriate . The male surgeon and male oncologist were fantastic.

@@lindajones4849 Well I was technically obese & well aware of it last year, and I started running. It's ironic I was diagnosed the year I started running. No one mentioned it but they should have done: it's a risk factor.

@@DrLizORiordan I appreciate you answering my queries in your live stream yesterday. My query re removal/reduction of my remaining breast is to do with the inpracticality of having one big breast. It's not a psychological thing: it's more of a practical issue: everything from bras to prosthetics is complicated! I either carry a huge heavy prostgetic in my bra or wear a lightweight knitted knocker that isn't heavy enough so I get dragged down on the right. There just isn't a market for people with one large breast yet we exist! Anyway, any time you fancy a boob workout I have two size 17 trulife 472's, they are perfect for the job.
