People are targeting KRS-One about his song back in 1992, "13 and Good". What many people are not understanding, nor trying to, is that the album that this song came from was a very thought-provoking album. It had songs ranging from various topics including Mike Tyson's rape conviction. With this song "13 & Good", he was speaking on how girls get fake IDs and stuff to get into clubs and trap older men. Those who grew up during that period know about the "Don't Trust a Big Butt and a Smile" statement. You don't know what's behind that big butt and a smile. This Era was still part of the Conscious Era of Boom Bap that ended around 1996. A lot of artists pumping out songs that made you think. You had Public Enemy, of course, Def Jeff, the X-clan, and many others making songs that made you think real hard. By pulling this song out of the hole from 30 years ago, you are basically throwing your hat into the cancer culture fad. Those of us who heard this song back then and who will conscious about things, got the message. Those who weren't, didn't get it. But that's how I was back then. You either got the message or you didn't get the message. To understand the full context of the song, you have to know the full context of the album. The entire album was gritty and cutting edge. That's the one thing KRS-One was: Thought-Provoking, and why he is a true MC. You don't have to like the guy. I'm not defending the man, I'm defending the mc. Study your Hip Hop if you are a True Head and don't get caught up in the BS.

I remember when I first saw the video, back in '92 (13-ish), I already knew the point of this song and I didn't take it for more than that. However, listening to it now, I really don't hear any remorse in this. I guess that's what makes it a little uncomfortable.
@blesssixone1902
@blesssixone1902 5 жыл бұрын
You don't hear any remorse? He talks about how she looked way older, she's is a club where adults are...when he finds out he instantly regrets it. Today females look older.. matter of fact i went to junior high school with a girl who was built and looked like an 18yo woman and YES she's already having sex and YES with an older boyfriend who was at least a senior or already out of HS.... now a days and even then you think people who were trying to have sex were asking for ID? Please people just don't give a fuck and this has gone on FOREVER... Elvis Presley and Pracilla?? She was 14... Woody Allen married his adopted daughter and has been having sex with CHILDREN since forever, that's why Jeffrey Epstein is protected from UP HIGH because he would push all the political and hollywood elites OUT of the pedophile rings. Remorse? Yeah, listen again....
