Some clips captured during a couple of short visits to the station.
The story of the railway at Warrington starts very early. The four mile section of the West Coast Main Line north from here to Earlstown is the oldest section of the line having opened in 1831. The Grand Junction from Birmingham opened in 1837. The route to Chester opened in 1850.
Services are operated by Avanti, Northern and Transport for Wales.

Was thinking if Northern were to inherit the Class 350/2 Desiro from London Northwestern Railway to operate from Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Piccadilly/Manchester Victoria to Blackpool North, Carlisle, Warrington Bank Quay and Wigan North Western.

Northern don't even need all the 323s that WMT are releasing. The 331s are covering quite a lot.

I thought Warrington BQ was good for freight… or am I mistaken

I was there on a weekend break and just took some video while passing through the station a few times so I can't really comment. I did hear freight passing through during Friday night from my hotel room. I closed the window during the other nights so didn't hear anything.

I was on a TfW service on the Sunday afternoon. Due to engineering works it was only running from Manchester to Chester, i.e. entirely in England. The dual language announcements seemed a bit over the top.
