Do YOU have this common leak on the front axle? What up SUPERDUTY gang?!?! Glad to be back. My co worker had a job on his ticket that required him to replace the front 4x4 diff seals. This can easily be checked be looking at the end of the axle tube where the axle shaft goes in. If its wet, its leaking. You must get the ok and start some tear down. If you don't have the special tool, a long piece of 3/8" All-Thread, 2- 3/8" nuts, 2- 3/8" washers , a seal driver kit from Harbor Freight is all you need. Use the all-thread rod to pull the seal into place by going in from the knuckle end. Use 2 seal installer dies from the HF kit that are the appropriate diameter to fit the seal and one to fit the other end of the axle tube by the knuckle. Hope that's clear.

Have done TONS of those. Home made installer out of 1" all thread and plate steel The Napa 15553 seal is actually a better design than Ford OE in my opinion in cold climates it's a good idea to clean all the factory grease from them and pack them full of grease stabile down to -30 or better. the factory grease solidifies when cold and the rubber lip seal area tears

Done a few. I had the 15" c clamp to spread the case makes taking the center section in and out super easy. Almost no prying needed

Slipping a gear wrench over the long nut shaft before putting on end cap makes a speedy replacement... very thorough video good👍🤠

Try 4-ounces of AT-250 per diff to keep the seals soft and long lasting! also works on engine seals, power steering and floor jacks

Did my 2002. Quite the job if you have auto hubs. Best to have all the right tools so it's done right the first time.

Man, this is very helpful video👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽, my truck broke down on the middle of nowhere, and all dealership and shops booked up 3 weeks ahead, now we are about to replace everything by ourselves. Its hard to find the seals 4-5 days order, and that seal pushing tool need to find.

I have an 03 7.3 at 293k, still bone dry somehow. I've done a lot of these on the newer trucks though. Nice work, the tool make this easy peazy.

I replaced these seals on my 1979 f150 w a Dana 44. Odd size 1.625'' OD / 1.3''' ID. I used a pice of allthread & bearing race driver pucks to serve the same purpuse.

I used a closet pole wrap in tape and punch them out from the side of the axle.

Bet the owner had his hubs locked for 80k miles. This stuff is what you usually see on dodge and jeeps because you can’t free spool the hubs. Good stuff.

Loose joints take out the seals perhaps? I’ve seen tons of them clog up the axle vents and blow seals. Was pretty rampant on some pipeline rigs that played in the mud frequently.

Believe it or not my 2012f250 with 277000 miles it's bone dry no oil leaks at all I'm driving it till the wheel fall off

Your a lucky one. My pos 2020 f250 front axle seal squeaks when in 4x4 and the part has been on back order since February.

@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod once in 4x4 mode it takes a few minutes for it to start making the noise and its a pretty loud squeak coming from the front end for sure. What would you say it might be? Have you seen this before? Dealer says that’s what they narrowed it down to I guess. I have had non stop issues with this truck. It’s sad cause I really enjoy the looks of these ford super duty’s.

All that seal does is seal against fluid on a steel shaft. Rubber to steal, 🤔🤔 no squeaky. Now your u joint thats spinning and is netal to metal once theres no more lube.......could be your problem

Ur hubs now. Axle fluid doesn't go to the front hubs...
