Hey G! Maybe try Genevieve Cogmam for the "Library Theme." The first book is called The Invisible Library. There's in between world travel, magic, chaos, dragons, etc. I think you might like them.

I can't wait to hear your thoughts on those sci-fi books ! I really need to read more of this genre, I love it every time I do it's just so intriguing. I read the Remnant Chronicles a few years ago and really enjoyed them :) I also needed to say : I received the cards and bookmarks for my first months as a Moon Messenger and they are perfection, thank you thank you thank you ! Opening the package was so magical ❤

I loved the Remnant Chronicles 😍 it’s still one of my favourite series and I’m soooo happy I got the Fairyloot editions as well. Hope you like it when you read it.

I’ve been having the same struggle with dark academia. I really really love the aesthetic and the idea of it- but I’m still on a quest to find one that I really love. 😅 I’m determined to find it! Lol. You may be onto something with trying out an anthology of them. I’ll have to check that one out. 😃

The Remnant Chronicles are FANTASTIC and I hope you love the series as much as I did, the first book especially has such a fun premise and the author totally pulls it off. Those end papers…I knew I was going to be sorry I didn’t get the special editions, they’re so pretty! Also, you look STUNNING in this video, I half forgot you don’t actually have silver hair after Orilium (whoops!)

Added alot of these to my Goodreads 😂 I don’t read horror, but I even added some of those because you make them sound so intriguing! I just finished my fairyloot edition of Bonesmith and I LOVED IT! You seemed to be having a better health day in this video! I hope that you are doing well ❤

Some of my favorite dark academia books are The Secret History by Donna Tart and Vita Nostra by Maryna and Serhiy Dyachenko

Some Desperate Glory is great, one of my favorites of the year, I really vibed with it. I was also somewhat hesitant on Tamsyn Muir being a blurb because... Didn't vibe with their work haha but I really like Emily Tesh. I'm surprised you seem to have not heard of her? She wrote Silver in the Wood and it's very different but great too.

Those books are gorgeous! 😍 My daughter laughed at the intro & said, "I do that all the time too!" (Try to push up glasses that aren't on the face). 🤣 Loving all those book recs, ty! 📚 Definitely try Only A Monster! ❤️ Hope you enjoyed the ice cream! 🍦

I am soo glad you enjoyed Sea of Tranquility! When I read it I somehow thought is was a book you would appreciate I haven't picked up the other books by Emily St. John but I would probably start off with Station Eleven and then Glass Hotel. Curious to know how you enjoy the other books!

I'm also super curious to know what you think of Ascension, especially the ending. I think it was a very interesting book but the ending didn't convince me. Also planning to read Some Desperate Glory soon. I loved Silver in the Wood by Emily Tesh, especially the writing (which I actually read on your recommendation), so hoping to love this one as well.

The synopsis on Station Eleven is misleading, in my opinion. I would say it's much more literary fiction than sci-fi. Mandel's writing is thoroughly captivating though.

I've had no real inclination for reading a good girl's guide to murder but seeing those editions?? Consider me converted. I just need a reason to buy those books because WOW 👀👀

All I know is that three of Emily St John Mandels books are loosely connected: Sea of Tranquility, Station Eleven and The Glass Hotel. The others are not connected in any ways :) I have only read those three so far, didnt love The Glass Hotel, and I want to try her previous work too!

For dark academia, have you read Threadneedle by Cari Thomas? It's an urban fantasy set in London about a witch discovering the greater world of magic whilst making a decision to stay in her coven/cult or join her new friends and potentially be cursed. It's a coming of age story but with light horror vibes.

I binge read the entire Remnant Chronicles series once upon a time. Especially the first book are a lot of fun, basically the princess, the prince and the assassin all meet and interact but are unaware of each other's hidden identities. Silly fun ensues. Then it develops into a surprisingly intriguing political and magical plot but unfortunately fails to deliver on all that promise in the finale... So.... good and bad I guess?

If you like creepy sci-fi with some time stuff I recommend the Hyperion series from Dan Simmons. I read it 20 years ago but it made a lasting impression on me.

Hi G! I have read the Fifth Science and unfortunately have to say I was not really convinced. Not bad by any means, 3 out of 5 stars. And some stories obviously worked better for me than others. In somewhat the same category I would suggest the 10th of December and Nightflyers as better recommendations. But curious to hear your thoughts on it anyway ❤
