Did I miss the announcement where we’re not doing the Oriliium Academy readathon in August? I’ve been waiting for the announcement video but I see this.

I don’t think there was an official announcement here in the channel. I just saw today on Instagram that the readathon was moved and is now happening in september

Not me constantly checking for the readathon prompts during the weekend just to catch the info of rescheduling while rewatching the video ;) Just a question - does that mean that the prompt for August would be the one originally written for September (for the yearly map thingy)?

Maybe I missed it, but where do the participants "book" their read pages and books? I've heard you say it a couple of times and I'm a little confused.

There are Google forms linked under announcement videos for those semesters, it’s where people log the books read but it’s not necessary needed if you’d rather not ☺️

I love this video! I feel like we have similar reading tastes, as one of my faves is The Name of the Wind, but I also like a lot of others you like! Out of your haul, I have read The Bandit Queens (LOVED, I don’t know if you keep up with the women’s prize for fiction, but it was long listed last year, so not that random! I hope you love it. It’s got everything!), The Centre which I enjoyed, and 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World, which is by one of my favourite authors. Have you read anything by Elif Shafak before?
@fallenangel68728 күн бұрын
Damn, that's a good book haul. I would love to see a video about your favorite speculative fiction books. And I can't wait for the reviews of all these books 😊

Hello i found your CAWPILE rating through Jashi Corrin and Erin Smith. I am not using a spreadsheet. But i am interested in determining 1/2 stars. Do you have a guide as per your previous videos where you list 0-1 no stars etc?
@JessicaParker-v9c13 күн бұрын
Added several of these to my tbr 😊
@kiri656214 күн бұрын
Thank you for these recommendations. I’ve added pretty much all of them to my wish list and am looking forward to discovering some new authors. Favourite book of the year is a draw between Circe and The Eye of the World (which I’m only a quarter of the way through but loving so far). Worst book was Time Travellers Wife as it was such a let down and made me feel so uncomfortable in parts.

Book Lovers is the only EH I have yet to read. I personally LOVED Happy Place but it's pretty polarizing. I thought it was really emotional and raw and I think it's best fitting for people who can relate maybe? If you've been through a dark time when you weren't necessarily being rational and communicating well, then you will understand where these characters are coming from. Otherwise, it might come off as a bad miscommunication trope. Hope that makes sense and helps some.
@hstahlbrandt17 күн бұрын
My favorites so far are One dark window and its sequel Two twisted crowns. My most disappointing is Yellowface, which I DNFed! I did not care for the storyline or main character at all!

My favourite was The Bookbinder of Oxford by Pip Williams. I simply love Pip Williams‘ characters and writing style. My disappointing book was When We Were Orphans by Kazuo Ishiguro. I’m not sure if it’s an issue of me or the book, but I felt like it could have been an interesting „unreliable narrator“ type of story, but ended up just being absurd and nonsensical.
