Tell me about it, it’s real life advantage was that it was faster than any allied planes at the time, though what got it to fail was trying to dogfight normally as it couldn’t out turn most allied fighters.

@@Orodreth888 im a pfeil main player, it takes some time to get used to it but its my favorite aircraft. altough they keep making it worse for no reason and even planes that on paper can surpass 618 km/h will follow you with no problem going 780+ without bursting into pieces. hilarous. also the Pfeil had an explosive mechanism which allowed you to detach the rear propeller and engine in case it got damaged to get rid of the drag and weight, also not featured in the game.

It’s very difficult to say as numbers vary widely just as accurate Luftwaffe losses also vary from different sources. Regardless tho, just the top three German aces of WWII, flying 109s, Hartmann, 352 kills, Barkhorn, 301 and Rall, 275, had a combined score of 928 kills… Just these three German aviators flying the 109 almost exclusively. Fun fact these are literally the three best fighter pilots history has ever seen. Thirdly the Fw 190 actually has the highest K/D ratio of any plane by quite a long shot and followed somewhat close only by the Bf 109. The Luftwaffe records show that during Operation Barbarossa, German pilots claimed 7,355 kills on the Bf 109, between the seven Jagdgeschwader (JG 3, JG 27, JG 51, JG 53, JG 54, JG 77, and LG 2) for exactly 350 losses in aerial combat, a ratio of just over 21:1. And that is “only” one Operation. The Bf 109 total K/D ratio throughout the war lies somewhat more around the 30:1 - 43:1. Nothing compared to what the Luftwaffe records show on the Fw 190 part of 50:1 - 87:1. Only as high as it is though because the Fw 190s saw not even close as much action as the bf 109s did. The highest K/D of allied planes is actually the P-51 with a K/D of 11:1 - 17:1.

@@HippoDrippo I get where you are coming from, the F15 pretty much has a perfect K/D never having lost even a single plane in combat. But the F15 is rarely ever being tasked with Fighter missions. There are simply no needs for dogfights anymore they are fairly rare to happen nowadays. The F15 has been deployed in intercepting missions as well as reconnaissance and strike tasks not pure fighter tasks. So it is a very advanced Jet with impressive capabilities, but it is not a fighter and was never meant to be a fighter. If a large scale war was to break out of some sort I am sure the F15 would make a great fighter but again times have changed and the WWII planes just had to have different purposes so planes like the Bf 109, the Fw 190, P-47, P-51 etc. will unlikely ever be dethroned.

OP didn't say it was good, just that it was cool. I haven't played the 229, but considering that the 262 is 7.0 and I am regularly told the 229 is worse, I'd assume it does not deserve to be 7.0.
