I remember when I was in 3rd grade, my elementary school had this book in its library and my friends and I loved it. It was always a race to the shelves to see who got the book for the week

Interesting that St Georges dragon comes just before the Wyvern, which is usually depicted as a Wyvern style dragon

The Basilisk was wrong - it is a lizard. It was a bird like Cockatrice. Of course, I worry about D&D interpretations these days. Before D&D most monsters' names were just generic.

@@lukasreimer1223 Not really. The Basilisk is sometimes depicted falsely with the rooster's legs, but should only have the comb (as a kind of crown) & beak at most. The Cockatrice is like the name says as much rooster anatomically as snake, often more so. It's parents are also slightly different. So the one in the book depicted is like FlatSpin stated actually a Cockatrice.

There's a monster I'm looking for that it's in one of this books but I don't remember the name of the monster or the name of the book. The monster doesn't have teeth and can swallow a person whole. It looks like a person but its not human

I know it’s a month late but I think the monster you’re looking for is called “Yara-ma-yha-who” the Australian mythical creature, hope this helps.

There are several books in this series. Some of the other volumes might have what you are looking for. You might also look into monster manuals for D&D or Pathfinder.
