• Can you review my book?
I’m always happy to hear about upcoming books, but I’m afraid I don’t review self-published books and can only accept a small number of books for review. I enjoy reading classics, dystopian/apocalyptic novels, sci-fi, translated fiction and a variety of graphic novels, YA and contemporary literary fiction.
• Where is your accent from?
I was born and raised in the Netherlands, studied English Lit at Leiden University (also in the Netherlands), studied in the US for 3 months and have lots of American friends. I'm definitely not Irish or Canadian, I promise!
• Where do you live?
I live in London and have been here for 7 years now.
• How did you get into publishing?
I did publishing work experience, did a lot of networking and learned everything I know about social media from creating and running this channel. (P.s. You don't necessarily have to study Publishing or English to get a job in publishing!).

I haven’t read much Dickens but I listened to the audiobook of David Copperfield and did really enjoy it. It’s read by Richard Armitage and he did a really good job differentiating all the characters and his performance was really enjoyable. I did spend over a year listening to it though because it’s like 40 hours long and also because it was published episodically I think spreading it out makes it work better because the repetition of jokes etc is less annoying.

Going from the trailer it looks as though the only similarity to H G wells novel is that a man has made himself invisible. Otherwise totally different concept that’s probably closer to the movie Hollow Man 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think I'm gonna save all the bright places for some time I feel really good, because I adored the book but it really made me cry. Same thing with noughts and crosses, I'm thinking about that book series and tearing up. I've wanted to reread them for years but can't face it because I vividly remember the way those books hurt. They're amazing. Might watch the traumatic things then watch Artemis Fowl to keep the nostalgic vibes but much happier

Thank you for the great video! I loved Anne with an E more than I can really express. It was really beautiful, and I related a lot to Anne's sensitivity and how strongly she feels emotions. We're currently watching Outlander which is a favorite. Gosh, just the costumes and the settings are so beautiful and well done. I'm looking forward to seeing Emma. It was actually the first book by Jane Austen that I ever read and it wasn't what I expected. I was surprised by Austen's wit and sense of humor. All the Bright Places is a book that I kind of have a beef with so I don't think I'll be checking that one about but I know it has immense popularity in some circles. I also want to see the netflix adaptation To All the Boys I've Loved Before. I have heard nothing but good things but I honestly have such a hard time keeping up on TV shows. Thanks for bringing all of these to the forefront of my mind!

I would also recommend you to start with the show ;) the books are not as "dramatic". I think the show is better enjoyed if you don't love the characters from the books already and don't notice the things that were changed. But that is just the opion of someone who really loves the books and has done so for quite some time. :)

I am also not friends with Dickens (sorry, Charles - couldn't even get through the Richard Armitage audiobook), but I adored the new film. I generally really like his characters and plot; I just don't love his writing style, so I often enjoy adaptions. x

The fifth season of Outlander is more or less based on the Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon and not the first book called Outlander even though that is the title for the series. So please show the fifth book instead of the first book in the series. You probably know this but I would like to emphasize it as it can be confusing for readers/viewers :)

All The Bright Places was a book that I wish I never read. I remember feeling VERY uncomfortable reading it and I ended up skimming through it after one event (no spoilers) bc I had a bad feeling and I started to get bored. It made me SO mad and it really had a bad impact on my mental health at the time. I keep seeing that this book helped people but I genuinely don't understand how and even if it's a stupid thing to say bc stories need to be told, I really wished that it never existed. This book felt so wrong to me.

I wanted to watch the sequel to To all the Boys I've loved before, but then I read about how it is part of a horrible Netflix trend where successful films directed by women, their sequels are directed by men??? Also I read the book and it had some questionable storylines that they cut out of the film, I'm glad they did but it does change how you see one of the characters compared to the book

To all the boys I loved before part 3 was the worst book I read in several years. Stay away! I also hate the low key slut shaming and odd sex views in the books. Noticed how only "bad" girls are having sex? Also people thinking Lara Jean has had sex is the worst thing in the world and her dad (who's an ob/gyn, btw) flipping out when her sister (who's 19-20 and has moved out long ago) wants to share a bedroom with her boyfriend. What message does that send to young girls?

Copperfield was disappointing think they tried to much to make the movie more of a narrative arch with tradintinal villans and returning characters. while the book I think was more dickens doing a sort of a book based sort on his life that goes no where can see why they had problems.
