Booker T sits down with Chris Van Vliet from his home in Houston, Texas. In this episode, Booker T talks about what he was like as a kid, the lessons he learned from going to prison, how getting into wrestling changed his life, getting hired by WCW, how he was able to get himself over in WWE when Vince McMahon bought WCW, how he came up with the Book End before The Rock came up with The Rock Bottom, the infamous supermarket brawl with Stone Cold Steve Austin, his podcast with Brad Gilmore called “The Hall of Fame”, being a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, the Bad Bunny song about him, why he doesn’t think Sting should wrestle in AEW and much more!

It's great hearing Booker in a long interview instead of the short sound bites that are usually on KZfaq. He often gets heat for some of his comments, but he's a cool, down to earth dude.

That's not actually heat, that's just lil offended people, who cares about what they think if they get so easily offended over everything.

34:20 It's true. Rock did that during Jericho's debut as well. It was just part of Rock's catchphrase. I wish Sting didn't took it the wrong way. Maybe We could've seen Sting in WWE back in 2001.

I still remember when I met him at a convention. It was at a casino and there was a restaurant where all the celebrity guest were going to and I saw Booker go into it so I waited in the hotel lobby for like an hour or something and when he finally came back out I ran to him and was like "Mr. 5-Time WCW World Heavyweight Champion(at which point he nodded his head in acknowledgement) it is very awesome meeting you!" and then I asked if I could take a photo with him. He said due to convention policy he couldn't take a photo but he shook my hand instead. In hindsight I probably should have recognized him for being a 2-Time WWE Half of Famer rather than just a 5-Time WCW Champ but I'm glad I got to shake his hand anyway.

I’ll always remember that Booker T is the first wrestler to ever shake my hand. I was at a Smackdown taping as a kid and my parents took me to the back where the wrestlers leave the arena after the show and I held up my sign that said “Booker T, can YOU dig it sucka?” and Booker drove past and seen it and stopped, lowered his car window laughing and said he loved my sign and shook my hand.

Chris, have you ever thought about running a group interview/panel? I think you would moderate a great discussion between a few wrestlers, maybe even from different generations? I’m just spitballing here, but you’re interviews just flow so naturally. I dunno, just a thought! Specific goals, get specific results right? :) Which reminds me. My specific goal for 2021. Create a reel, work on my craft, and be admitted into Vancouver Film School for Acting in 2022. I’m only 28, so it’s not too late, right? 😅
