Fun thing is, Beach Read has two endings, one has the scene you're probably referring to and the other doesn't! It's the US vs UK edition thing from what I've gathered. And yeah I also don't like that 'goal' in romance.

Ooh, which one has the extra scene? More so that I can avoid it when I finally pick it up 😂 if I'm correct in what g was saying, it's the kind of scene I dislike at the ending

I've been learning this from the comments, what a fun thing to have!! i need to know now what the other ending is haha maybe it is more of a geographical thing then if they removed it for the UK part 👀👀

oh actually i just checked my copy, i think the audiobook must have been reading the US version as my UK paperback did not have that end i think!

@@BookRoastI just finished the book! I read it with the UK ebook and that's the one that doesn't have the scene, the US edition is the one with the page and a half extra scene (I have the US paperback so I immediately checked after finishing as I already knew about the different endings). Honestly Beach Read was a five start read for me IF the US ending doesn't exist (which I what I'm choosing to believe lol)

These videos are so fun, I am glad you're doing a round 2. Also loved your art in this video, it looked stunning! Being stuck in a car for 8 hours in traffic is terrifying, I would have freaked out. So glad you got home ok by the end!

I Who Have Never Known Men has everything I hate in books yet it was one of my favourites of last year 😆 and yes, I stared at wall as well after finishing and I keep thinking about it from time to time :D Omg the traffic! I saw your stories, it must've been so stressful 😩

I think you read the US version of Beach Read which has a different ending than the UK one. I feel you would’ve liked that one more. That painting is absolutely stunning 😍

I am a fan of Emily Henry’s writing [at least since Beach Reads was published…don’t even know if anything exists prior…] but my biggest complaint is the misleading title. Like, it didn’t take place on the actual lake or feel like a light summer read. However, her novels are great for mixing in heavier, real life issues with a romance.
