The Queen Consort has spoken of the "life-changing" effects of reading after stamping a charity's logo into a children's picture book destined for an overseas library.
As Camilla toured Book Aid International's headquarters in London, she praised the organisation for its efforts and spoke of her “passion” for books.

She's so right...books are life changing. I was a single child from a broken home and so very lonely. I could not WAIT to learn to read and write. I traveled to so many places and made so many friends within the pages of books, that once I could read I never stopped and my life was never the same lonely life again! 📚👑🇿🇦

Yes indeed. One of my favourite excerpts from a book is where Roald Dahl's _Matilda_ "travelled all over the world while sitting in her little room in an English village".

I moved to england aged 7 in 2009, I really hoped I could have a signed copy of a book that camilla signed and I would uave kept save and in good condition to my old age, but I want one of the lucky kids, I do hope to meet her in person, my uni friends don't like but I do.

I have always loved books and first joined a library at aged 3 i remembee being in primary school at age 6 and having my reading tested by a School Inspector who determined that I had a reading age of 14 which meant that I could ditch the Ladybird books that my teachers insisted I read. My mom is an avid reader and often tells me which country she has visited in her books. There is much to be discovered between the covers of a book.

I'm going to be blunt (aren't all us Americans?), I had my doubts on Camilla at the start of her marriage to (then) Prince Charles. I was a *HUGE* Diana supporter. I see that I was comparing apples to oranges. They're both different women, with many different ways, but both with kind hearts.

Queen Camilla has had to earn the respect she now has, the media was not kind to her at all in the UK following the divorce. I also was not very impressed, but the RF are human, and flawed too. Unfortuantely everything they do gets played out publicly, for consumption and judgement. HRH Camilla has earnt every ounce of respect she now has, and I for one, can clearly see the true love they have for each other, and how much Queen Consort Camilla will be a strength and stay for King Charles III. Behind every great man is a great woman.

Queen Consort Camilla I absolutely love and respect you, and the work you do promoting reading and books, it's so important. Wish my son loved reading like I do, his spelling and literacy may have been a little better if he was a book lover. My first love was The Hobbit, then LOTR and The Silmarillion, a huge Tolkien fan here. Then i discovered Stephen King, Graham Masterton, James Herbert, Guy N Smith, horror was my genre of choice, and still is, with a smattering of chick lit. All books are good books, except one, the one we shall not name here out of respect and love for the Monarchy. I stand with my King, and the amazing working Royals that form our incredible hard working Monarchy. Was very upset today to hear that the King will not be on the new Australian $5 note, he could a least have featured on it. Nothing at all, and Im disappointed, and to me feels ominous that Republicans forced that one through. I want Australia to remain part of the Commonwealth 100%. But, I'm a dual citizen of the UK and Australia, so regardless, King Charles III will always be my King, and I will always defend, and be loyal to the Monarchy, as my parents were, and theirs before them. Long Live The King, and his family xox

Books are the secret to intelligent children. My daughter read “Gone With The Wind” in the 4th. Grade. Her reading skill level was so high at her grade school that they didn’t have a group to put her into and they didn’t have books advanced enough for her so they assigned her the library and the Librarian was her assigned teacher, which she didn’t have to do anything with her but just be with her. She constantly wanted us to buy her new books and her dad would say check them out of the library and she would say, “But Daddy I’ve already read them all, I need new ones.” It was pretty expensive to be her parents but she did become a triple major college graduate with a Bachelors in Chemistry, Biology and Pre-Med. She went on to Medical School and became Board Certified in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Internal Medicine. So reading is the key, it was what she really liked to do too. It’s was her passion also. So Camilla is probably very intelligent, I bet that is why Charles didn’t get along with Diana, she was beautiful and young and unsullied like the Royal family wanted but she wasn’t very educated so they probably couldn’t talk to each other and didn’t share the same interests. That’s why your parents shouldn’t tell you who to marry. Oh I never read that book but I did watch the movie.

There are very few beauty queens in our age group, even those who have cosmetic procedures, which the down to earth genuine Camilla would never have. Loveliness comes from the inside of the person. I love this woman. She has been the most hated one for years in the 90's but kept her head high and went on with life. She seems kind and funny and its obvious that She and Charles are soulmates. I also loved Diana but that marriaged was a forced one, where both of them cheated. I am happy that King Charles is happy and they can be together after many years of suffering. God bless Camilla!
