Different seasons is the most underrated. All four stories are so well written. They also loosely link together, which is like a little side quest when you're reading.

As another big King fan I’ve been ranking them as I go and feel the way you do that it can be hard! I think im the only person on the planet who loved the gunslinger, i really liked the fact that you didnt know what was going on and how the the dark towers finishes makes me like "the gunslinger" even more. Other from that great tier ranking but the shining will always be number 1 haha 👍

Glad to see Doctor Sleep on your list. One of his few "Carry On" books to continue a story from a kid to adult. Very good!

Started The Stand this weekend at your recommendation! Excited for the journey. I highly recommend Everything’s Eventual. I love King’s short stories and that’s one of my favorite collections.

Apt Pupil is actually the only story I have ever read that gave me nightmares. It is the scariest King writing for me because it is a real life type horror and very much showcases that the scariest monsters are humans. Would love to hear your take on it!!!

Different Seasons is very much underrated, perhaps because it is a collection of four novellas. However, the stories are superb and to my opinion are among King's best production. For me it well deserves the "life changing" rating.

As a dad, of young kids, I can confirm that Pet Sematary altered my life. The movie for Doctor Sleep is good, but it picks up where The Shining movie ended. Because of that, the end of the movie Doctor Sleep is completely different (because of the hotel).

This is off topic but there is a book called The Titanic survivors Bookclub. Not sure if you’ve already heard of it or read it. Made me think of you when I saw it. It’s about people who were supposed to have been on the titanic but somehow didn’t end-up on the ship. They end up coming together and forming a bookclub. It sounds great!

11/22/63 is the best book I’ve ever read. I’m not sure it’s even close!

The Dark Half would be under the Unreal or Life Altering Tier in my eyes....It has been so long since I last read the book but I can still remember how terrifying it was just to read some the chapters, so much so it literally gave me nightmares sleeping at night.

Pet Sematary was my first Stephen King novel I ever bought and it's based on some true events in his life just look it up, he talks about how and why he didn't want to publish it, but it was his wife that made him change his mind.

I read The Langoliers 30 years ago, and really loved it, but then never read any other SK book.. A long gap without reading anything followed.. Got back to reading a couple years ago thanks to Science Fiction (Remembrance of earth's past trilogy). Now I have a list of 500 SF books to read XD BUT! I just received a neat HC copy of Pet Sematary! Let's see if that gets me to read more SK stuff.

I've only read 2 and I'm surprised it's one that you haven't! The Institute, nothing special but solid.

My favorite Stephen King book is one he wrote under his pseudonym, Blaze. I don’t know many people who have read it but, I loved it.

I loved The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon as a teenager. It was the book that got me into King. Also huge fan of The Dark Tower.

I've actually never read a Steven King. But I always want to. I'm a mood reader and read like 7 books at a time. His books are so long and intimidating. Hahahah

You have to read the last story in Different Seasons called The Breathing Method. One of the best stories I think.

Shattered you put fairytale in Eh. For me it's pretty great. The hunger games chapters were hectic. I'm up to book 5 in DT and so far the wastelands is my fav.

If I remember correctly, you don’t watch many shows, but season 2 of Castle Rock is a (sort of) prequel to Misery about a young Annie Wilkes. The show is worth a watch. There are tons of nods to the Stephen King multiverse.

A tier ranking that has 11/22/63 above The Stand, IT, and MIsery is a non-starter. 11-22-63 is a mid-level King book...maybe somewhere between Pretty Good and Pretty Great.

I've only read 6 of these books and I agree 100% with everything you said. 11/22/63 Incredible.... Misery.... The only horror book that gave me true scares cause it's that GOOD!

I implore you to continue your journey to The Tower. And, if it please ya, report back if The Gunslinger doesn't move up your ranking after completing the entire series. Long Days and Pleasant nights, may your journey along the path of the Beam hold water if Gan wills it.
