Any explode enjoyers??

I love this. No one seems to be talking about the herald buff, and I'm really happy to see one used to it's fullest. Using Chieftain, who has a ridiculous overkill amount of defense, and almost no offense, is a perfect solution to no auras with an insane amount of damage.

Love it! Ever since this keystone was added ive always wanted to see a herald of ash version. Tried a few times to PoB it but never got far, but this version youve made is beautiful! Tempting me to come back to this league to give it a go

An awesome idea executed perfectly. A Calamitous Visions has been staring at me every time I open my dump tab, and this is giving me an idea for Lightning Herald.

I played something similar back in 3.13. I had a full Fire Conversion,BV, Lone Messenger, Herald of Ash Occultist with a Headhunter back then. It smashed completely everything back then with 16M DPS. Used it mainly to farm 5 Way Legions cause of the screenwide Herald of Ash / Profane Bloom Explosions. So this is giving me some good nostalgia back to that build!

Now a godlike build from ya with Herald of Thunder please there is no real or good build guide for herald of Thunder 👏👏👏

Very cool. Would definitely like a quick build guide if there are any things that must be done to level the build then switch into this form (i.e. any min set of tattoos, etc). I'm also curious on if reap would be better clear? I like BV but hate having to keep it up.

love the build, ive been slowly working towards this in a private league though i was planning on getting 300% herald effect (120% rings, 40% tree, 30% gloves, 110% tattoos) without going for lone messenger. Your build inspired me to look to see how much im giving up (herald of purity, purity of fire/elements) for getting 50% more herald effect.

I use herald buff effect tattoos in the EK Ignite build to scale the "add % of phys as fire " and fire damage

Would love a build guide for this, I had my most scuffed league start in a long time cause i decided to go off meta, farm and oni at league start and do an infernal blow chieftain, made it to lvl 85 before giving up and rolling a new char lol, so i have a chieftain sitting around that i would love to rock this build on

one thing you can optimize, it's changing deep thoughts for dynamo that's inside your elegant hubris, and get one elegant hubris that gives something good on dynamo, it's the same points but with some good modifiers

Temporal rift is a surprising qol for non aura reservation skills. I use it on my hot autobomber and delve with it so i can dive into side areas get loot and one button press takes me back to the crawler path or very close to it. Also its just a nice thing to have to get all your health and ES back if something does almost instaquack you

If you take the jewel ascendancy you can use the transcendent flesh jewel to get some nice life recovery rate and crit multi in the scion part of the tree or

this with reap sounds sick, i think theres already a bunch of phys to fire reap builds. lets just pray tattoos survive for future leagues so this is replicatable

You had an interesting idea of using HoA effect and lone messenger and did a good proof of concept. Nevertheless, there are big problems with the build: 1. No movement speed 2. No AoE 3. No single target DMG 4. Dead 4th acendancy passive I suggest you completely forgo chieftain and choose Elementalist instead. It would solve AoE, DPS and partially offset defensive loss with stone golems Bastion of Elements. You could still mitigate phys with convert but to a lesser extent. Going Ele would also unlock Suppression or Spell Block (maybe even normal Block). I would also use AoE mid clusters. That leaves us with movement speed problem that can be solved by better boots (probably with onslaught on kill, that would make space for a good flask like Progenesis) and a proper QS flask! I may try making a full PoB later, when I find some more time. Thanks for inspiration!

I would 100% play this as a second or third build in a league. Do you think it will be viable without tattoos? I assume we can sub in oriaths end or some other source of explode to proliferate it with HoA, but I am concerned about the damage scaling without herald buff tattoos.

was stacking alot of herald buffs too on my bear trap ignite blackflame occ, using both herald of purity and ash, i'd suggest you try without lone messenger and slap herald of purity.

I've worked on min-maxing a Herald of Agony Juggernaut this league with Calamitous Vision and was surprised how tanky you can become without the use of auras. I've probably made my thickest character ever after finding different avenues to build defenses. It is quite the fun keystone to build around IMO. Unfortunately HoAg (the minion itself) doesn't benefit from extra buff effect, and I dream of the day they add more ways to get maximum Virulence.

hi, i feel it a bit weird to use supreme ostentation where you should have a lot of suffix open with chieftain ascendency that allow you to get pretty much all res, you can probably swap it for the traitor and go heavy uptime on taste + ruby maybe idk but nice idea otherwise, gl !

Cool build but have you considered flashbanging yourself with Despair HoA Effect and ripping the character? I feel like the flashbangs would be worth it

Reminds me of grimro’s BV mapper back in the day. To differentiate you from the chieftain RF fulcrum self ignite autobombers which arguably do this better for cheaper: Phys explode will chain explode screens with this level of herald of ash buff effect, as long as you have AOE and the density to fill up the screen with mobs to begin with. You might see if that feels better than fire explode tattoos or in addition to them. To address lack of cast speed: ILvl 84+ large ele / fire 12 passive clusters with 35% buff effect, 3% attack/cast speed with elemental or fire skills, and then life and all/fire res would slap on this build. If you try to roll these yourself probably do it on ele, rather than fire, jewels to increase odds of resale for your fails. Each 12 point jewel could give you as much as 2 jewel slots, 40 cast speed, 160% increased damage, 130 life, and either 70 fire res (70 flat life regen) or 40 all ele res (and 40 flat life regen) or 60 chaos res depending on if you go with all/fire/chaos res as the last suffix. Caspiro timeless jewel trees seem to thrive on the excessive pathing that builds that want 2-3 large clusters need to do, which just adds to this.

I am gonna do this and go for a bow build lol or wand with totems. My favourite build this league is Chieftain FlameWall Shrapnel Ballista with snipe mark scaling and return proj. The flamewall clears juiced maps on its own with pushing lvls, while shrapnel is amazing for bossing since the 70% return proj damage reduction does does not effect the bonus from flame wall.....so you shotgun like hell, easy 70+ mil. The deadeye and hiero version have 200m but cost 3 arms and 1 leg while this is budget easy 15mil and 70mil with 20div (i did wrath aura legion boots woth smite hiero with srs, then chains of command. Also tried with Champion smite srs (best minion build i ever played), then tried hiero totemer siege dex stackee into str shrapnel but the Chieftain was build of the league)

I'm building a similar character actually, I've invested in block chance to become tanker. Problem was it had like 0 dps. I didnt think about the herald buff effects to be honest.

I've been using these tattoos with HoAg and HoP scaling up a poison BV so that the Oblivion explosion have 100% chance to poison due to atl quality HoAg

Does Lone Messenger prevent auras from others like an aura bot? Or just stop you from adding other auras of your own?

I feel like going for something like Guardian would just be much better. You trade off the max res for block, you get a load of less damage taken from the super saiyan minion, and then you get Anger, Hatred and Wrath for more ele scaling. You'd have to invest in armor, but you could take Radiant Faith for a good start.

I think you can sneak in Divergent Blood and Sand for AoE/Area Damage somewhere.

Scaling Herald Buff effect even more with an ashes for gem quality and the synth ring with inc buff effect would be quite insane, wouldn't it?

Eh, has value in herald of thunder, forgot why it no longer gets used, but the old autobomber was fairly fun to use, functionally useful in every herald really, just few builds make use of the herald effect for it's main scaling or damage. I should be stocking tattoo's, but I cannot bring myself to POE anymore this league.

would herald buff stacking not be better on agony since you can get a lot of value by getting additional levels to it?

this is not a bad aproach, but i would totally do ashes + bow with levels, get nice cast speed and do EK ignite . like would be big damage and kidna same survival stats. Also maybe a hh or a hh mini gem, forgot the name.

a source of phys explode would be nuts for this build, shame your gloves slot is important, since asenaths would go very nicely

Hey Dream, try to go AOE Ignite Route, invest in AOE and in generic Ignite Chance. get yourself gloves with Ignite Prolif. Your coverage is very Small, as you already use RF and BV both need AOE, also your Explosion needs AOE, it has enough Damage. Explosion benefits from HoA generic Fire Damage. On Softcore i would go Arn's Anguish with Circles of Anguish route for insane Fire Resist + a LOT of Damage. PoB BV against Reap, you only need a very Large Average Hit, your damage per second ist not relevant in this type of build. BV kinda needs Duration scaling, what you don't have.

Why do people use cloak of flame over lightning coil?

I am back on my pc to tinker on some builds. I think I will try with 10 tries with the randomizer Got eldritch battery, Blood magic, CI, and that node that gives ES leech.... so I can't cast any spells, or attack with anything, any and all DoT instantly kills me. I managed to be quasi immortal for on hit, but anything else folds me. So I am bleed immune, immune to ignited ground, immune to those chaos ground effects, Since I only have access to my default attack and I can't run more than a couple of auras, then it won't be a viable build. Or what... No, there is nothing I can do to save such a bad randomized char. Even if I go with armour stacker for the default attack, I am not getting much more than 200k arm. And I still have no flat damage. Unless, maybe tattoos. No that won't do. Already some combinations are simply too disruptive. I have made a char that can survive without mana, ES, or life. Until it hits dot that is not bleed, ignite, burning ground, decorated ground, poison, or Corrupted blood. Since I am immune to all of that. Even 100% delicious with 300% as extra won't do anything from the on hit effect. I do have 75% block, 64% spell block, 100 spell supp, 90/90/90/100 res. Thanks to Olroth resolve I am not dying from on hit damage. But I can't fight back... can't even use RF because of CI.

I am not crapping on your build here, it is very creative. But, this seems inferior to a basic RF explode build. The defense are about the same, and you don't gotta cast as much. You can pretty much run and boom. Again, seriously, the build is creative, but I don't really see why you went this far more complicated route to essentially get almost the same or even inferior clear. You are solely relying on HoA and while decent, using self ignite based off of Hinekora would net far more DPS anyway than the best HoA setup. That said, I do see an allure to being a "different" build, but I dunno. Having to stop and cast is just not a fun playstyle when you are simply just run through with RF - Now, if your self cast was really high DPS, I might - and of course, if the build was CHEAP, but it really isn't cheap, although that is debatable these days.

It's very sad to see PoE in this state. Ancestors it seems has been broken from day one. Knockback. Void Sphere. Gorgon statue. Each time GGG fixes holes in the league mechanic someone finds another. Tattoos has to be the camel that finally broke the back. One straw too much for the pool old camel. It is just so complex now that the game has run away from the developers. I've seen Ben_ using a build with 50 health that one shots an uber-uber boss. This is in hard core. It really makes a joke of the entire game. You certainly will not see that rubbish, and it is rubbish, in World of Warcraft boss fights. I mean, what is the point? If you can play the game 24/7 at the start and get enough currency you win. I'm going to give up playing and just watch the mess on twitch.
