Uncle Ruckus does have a tragic back story: His dad would beat the shit out if him constantly, while his mother would tell him it was because he was white and she would teach him his current views. Now despite his views on race, he still shows love and compassion towards his mom and brothers, and even considers Robert a friend, which is wholesome ..... In a strange, twisted way.

They left out the funniest one IMO. Uncle Ruckus takes a DNA test and finds out that he is 102% African with a 2% margin of error. LOL! he doesn't take it well. His character is sad, wrong and hilarious.

Definitely give this series a shot. The entire show is an examination of black America and is 100% unapologetic in its writing. It’s a glorious piece of work every black person in America deserves to experience in their life. 😂👌🏽

I bought the thing on DVD when they came out. It still holds up today as some of the funniest stuff around. Ruckus doing an exorcism almost gave me a heart attack it was so damn funny.

Idk. It was on Adult Swim, then Netflix. Now it's on HBO Max. I'd say it's one of the top five US animated tv comedy shows in the past two decades. South Park, Family Guy, American Dad, Archer, Boondocks, in no order.

It became big to me, I've watched and re-watched every episode several times. It never gets boring. There is so much to unpack and think about and learn from this show. Every character is so unique , Tom the pacifist and coward , Jasmine the Pacifist and Innocence, Sarah the Strong female, Mother figure Grandpa the womanizer, angry old man, Riley, the gangster and trouble maker, Huey, The logical and calm headed. And of course the delusional Re-Vitaligo ridden mega racist Uncle Ruckus, as well as many other characters.

I believe the key message of the show, is that ignorance makes idiots of everyone--regardless of race. Ruckus is a prime example of this.

I love The Boondocks! It did a great job of highlighting the insanity of the world. He has a KZfaq channel where he dresses up like Ruckus and does the whole thing. He was trying to crowd fund a live action movie.

Yeah, Uncle Ruckus IS in fact that crazy on a regular basis. Though considering some of the other characters he stumbles into sometimes they actually make his hatred valid.

It's a glass eye, on the right. Completely mismatched to his real left eye, as it doesn't even fit. I couldn't even begin to guess why the creators gave him that. I agree with you. Ruckus could have used some red eye substances.

Boondocks was a hell of a ride of a show. Bringing social standards of society in the light and showing we all can be great, and we all can be an Uncle Ruckus. Huey has to be the best, but he too is a social justice stereotype but damn, you gotta respect the kids determination.

Uncle ruckus can never create too much ruckus. He was named by his lord and savior as such for a reason. Also it is rare but people can survive a lightning bolt. It helps if you have something to channel the bolts energy into after it strikes you. Although that would all be by chance same as it is chance that your even struck. For instance, when a person uses an umbrella in a lightning storm it is acting as a conducting rod to direct the lighting to you. You just want it to go the opposite direction out of you once hit. I think you should check out tesla coil music it is a pretty cool invention and funny to see. Some people have used tesla coils to create a noise at the right frequences at the right time to essentially play music from spewing lightning from the coils its pretty cool. I know you have watched many rock videos on one of your channels and this would be a fun littlr thing to watch in my opinion.

Mr Video was a lot more accepting of Uncle Ruckus at first glance than I would have thought. He is a tragic character but it is hard to see. Took forever before I got past the 'holy crap' response whenever he was on screen. That was a wild series.

Thank you to the people who recommended this. I had never heard of it before, only in reference to someone saying that someone was like Uncle Ruccus. When was this on TV ? I suspect that this could only be done as a cartoon. Like South Park and Family Guy. It's very clever and we'll observed, but makes your toes curl at the same time. Good shout, I will definitely see more

My memory is hazy, but I believe Ruckus was only supposed to be in the first episode, but one of the co creators thought he was too funny so we got 4 seasons of insanity. Also, apparently season 5 is done but releasing it now.... I could see why not hahaha. I hope someday though, John Witherspoon is passed away now, I'd love to see more of his impressive comedy abilities
