i love how miguel called his extra turn a blue explore. in our play group if someone has a counter spell and doesnt want to waste their only or last one. they will ask "is this just a blue explore?" made me laugh that we arent alone

My playgroup is so heavy on GY-hate, it always astounds me when a deck like Muldrotha is allowed to abuse the yard like Matthew did.

In the old ruling (which applies to this game), yes, Kefnet can go back to the command zone because of the replacement effect. If the new ruling were in effect instead, Kevin would've stolen Kefnet because the Helm's ability must finish resolving before players get priority and Miguel can choose to zone Kefnet.

I was confused about this at first, because I thought the commander could be put into the command zone whenever it changes zones (in this case library to battlefield) but I checked and it actually just checks graveyard and exile and shuffeling in is *still* a replacement effect. Honestly, this seems needlessly inconsistent, but at least I learned something :) Sadly I won't be able to apply it in a judge tower game anytime soon.

Not being that guy just food for thought. This is an older game which he says early on. It is possible this game was prior to the rule change.

So even with the newish rulings, SBA are not checked during resolution of spells/effects so the commander cannot move to a different zone until the resolution is complete. Necromantic selection is a prime example of being able to take a commander when you resolve the spell before they can move it.

Matthew played two enchantements from His graveyard in one turn with mudrotha ability ( treachery and prenicious dead) but you can only Play on permanent of every type during one turn(from your graveyard).

The Helm/Kefnet thing does NOT work that way. The rule is that if a STATE-BASED effect lands the Commander into a new zone, you can choose to put it into the Command Zone. However, state-based effects do not check until the resolution of a card (e.g., a creature with p/t doesn’t die if someone wheels).

Technically u had to organize the stack with estrids and grasp of fate. Kevin had a stomping ground and helm untapped, he should have attempted to exile your whole library in response to ur ETB triggers on the stack. He could have taken you down with him, I am unsure if he chose not to do this on purpose though?

Poor Matthew got hard targeted with Kevin about to pop off and one shot someone, luckily there was enough answers to hold him back. I enjoy seeing an enchanters deck pop off but really wish I coulda seen the Kefnet do more as I use to abuse that card alot back in standard.

I think that is true, since Replenish resolved then Grasp triggers would have went on the stack. It may not have changed the outcome, though. Kevin taps Helm and exiles Andy's library, then Grasp takes the Helm. Then once the Aura is used to destroy the Grasp, Andy gets back the Helm now untapped since it was coming from exile. So Andy can still exile Kevin's library. Kevin loses on his turn just like he did in the game. Miguel's turn happens just like it did before, but he found no answers, so it goes back to Andy. Since Andy also has Solitary Confinement out, he skips his draw step and doesn't lose from having no library, and can now activate the Helm again to exile Miguel's library, causing Miguel to lose on his turn. The only way I see Miguel getting the win is if he had a draw spell that could have made Andy draw, then he could force Andy to lose the game for not being able to draw. However Solitary Confinement gives Andy shroud, so this makes it even harder. Unless Miguel can remove Solitary Confinement, then Andy would lose on his draw step. So confusing...

Replenish also brought back Solitary Confinement, so Andrew couldn't be targeted by the Helm at all.

In addition to what DarkEinherier said - even if I could: 1. Andrew can use the Aura of Silence to destroy RIP and make it a moot point 2. I needed Miguel to help beat Andrew so I didn't want to use it on him

9:55 For I can see, Mathew cast Treasury and Pernicious Deed from the Graveyard, not from his hand. Now does Treasury is consider only an Enchanment or is also consider a Creature? If it only an Enchanment, how was Mathew able to cast two Enchantment from the Graveyard?

I am always so tilted when people fetch dual lands with fetch lands - it's the most efficient to take the shock land over the dual with a fetch if you're not going to immediately use it, and it potentially saves you 2 life down the road. I know this is super super niche, but everyone needs to board this optimization train. That's all I'm sayin.
