I also like the blue door; you don't want to look like a copycat with your neighbor's red door, and when you combine their red door with your blue one and the white trim on the windows, you've got the colors of the French tricolor flag!

Major improvement! I don't know if you're interested, but assume you could find one-way-window-film in France... It is a mirrored privacy window film that has reflective finish of one way privacy window film gives the glass a one way mirror effect when there is more light on one side than the other. In other words, during the day, people on the outside of the window can’t see in through the glass, while you can still see clearly through it from the inside.

It is becoming a beautiful and very bright house. Great work. I think the best colour for the door is blue, the same blue as the street name plate. On the façade: stone, white and blue. A classy colour combination. I love it.

The proper way to pull masking tape is to double the tape over itself at a 45degree angle. Gets the cleanest lines.

Oh, Anna, Ed and Louis, the first reveal was perfect, today!!! The chocolate box is almost ready. Love the cobalt blue door - very French-looking. Yes, before long you will be finished outside. Then, later, the inside, too. You have done an incredible job...so far...just lovely...!

I think the blue door looks great and it matches the sign on the corner of your building and Anna if you use aerosol hairspray, it gets paint out of clothes you have to spray on the spot and dab with a rag and repeat

I would use a pair of the old shutters as a feature on the wall in one of the rooms. Sand them back and give them a french stressed look. Paint the iron. They would look great. Love the blue door. Its coming together. Loving the progress.

When I saw you removing that tape, I remembered I had some to remove. Transom windows above our bathroom and spare room doors. I paused the video and went to peel them off. Ooooohhh the satisfaction!!! I’ve had a much more interactive experience of this vlog today!

Love the blue door have a similar colour in my little 1963 brick bungalow in Ontario Canada ! Painted the brick a creamy white as sand stone needed to be painted was shedding too much ! But love it can put any colour of flowers in summer shows up beautiful ! The windows are lovley!

The blue of the door goes with the blue of the street sign on the facade. Not all the homes in the street will have such a sign. Looked up the Fen Shui for blue doors; blue supports growth and new beginnings and dark blue can help support an intention to deepen your skillfulness. 📘

Ed, the time is coming that you will always need your glasses for close work. A small bag (cross body?) is useful for keeping them with you with hands free and no risk of losing them out of your pocket. A spare pair in case of accidents means you don't have down time waiting for replacement. 😮

I do like rich saturated colors for front doors… the blue is really nice agree with you both and all the other commenters. Especially given a close neighbor already has red would not use red.

LOVE the build! You are a great couple. Painter tip for everyone: When peeling off the masking tape, to avoid taking dry chips off edge, remove the tape after you re done painting WHEN STILL WET... that was taught to me by old my old timer boss.
