Ses deux premiers jours chez nous, nous avons laissé Donny juste être un chien dans la meute et découvrir la ferme; il a fait des sortis avec nous, est venu quand nous avons sorti les moutons, etc., sans que nous n'avons demandé rien de lui.
Mais aujourd'hui nous avons commencé petit à petit le travail. Il a remmené un lot de moutons de leur pâture à la maison et a sorti un autre à brouter. J'ai remarque qu'il est plus tendu dans ses directions gauches qu'à droite, donc j'ai privilège cette direction aujourd'hui. Il ne connait pas ses commandes pour les directions; à travailler.
Je suis désolée pour ma conduite affreux; j'ai du mal à gérer chien et camera au même temps. :-)

When I have dogs here on training, I send their owners a diary every day so they can see what we are working on. This is an example of one of those video reports.
This is a beginner dog who had just started working with a couple of sheep in a circular pen at home but not done real work or flock work, didn't yet know how to drive or have his directions or flanks (as you can see in the beginning of the video :-P),.... The first two days we just let him tag along as we moved and grazed sheep with our dogs, and he was doing well so this day 3 it was time to let him try to do some work on his own. In the video you see him move a flock to a new field, and take another flock out grazing. (Since he has more problems with his left flanks I send him more often on that side and at the end of the day they're a bit better.)
Once the dog has a good, relaxed attitude and a nice feel for working the flock, I start working on getting him sure on his directions and stops, get more precision, working fewer sheep, flightier sheep, lambs, pen work, hill work, etc. until he becomes comfortable and reliable even in varied, complicated and stressful situations. After that we can get into the advanced (fun :-)) stuff like sheds, sorting, directed outruns, turn-backs, etc.
(I apologize for the crappy handling in the beginning. It's difficult to manage a camera and a beginner dog at the same time. :-))
