Border View Farms is a mid sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. We raise corn, soybeans, and wheat on a little over 3,000 acres.
My name is Nathan. I run this channel and farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. I get questions about how and why we do things on the farm frequently, even from my own family members, so to help explain things it's easier to just show you. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture in general as well as dispel some of the common misconceptions.
I hope you enjoy my content and please ask questions as you have them. I do my best to answer anything I can.

In the good ol' days, we had a bolt salesman that came around every couple of months and replenished our bolt bin. What a time saver! And the quality of bolts was good.

I’ve got to ask if you weren’t there would dad or Phil do any of this Fancy math and computer work,, variable rate Stuff or just throw out some fertilizer and and buy whatever seed was on sale and hope for the best! 👍

We have an old flat disc which fits in the gauge wheel centre you can put enough pressure on to push the wheel straight into the tyre without levers then. I’m not a bot either just an interested UK farmer.

I found that if you heat up the gauge wheels it helps getting them back together. We used a torpedo heater.

Hey Nathen, do a grain hauling video, i’m sure you guys are getting rid of corn and soybeans!! The lines are ridiculous here in Northern Illinois by the Illinois River, not fun at all!!😩

Nathen, I don’t know if you are aware but I noticed that you are missing the top right back parallel arm bolt/bushing on the far right row unit. Also for the gage wheels we have found it best to use bolts and suck them in the whole way , we just buy a lot of cheap long bolts, makes it go pretty quick.
