As others have stated, this was most likely a publicity stunt to get his name back in the news. Boris is one of those people who follows the mantra of "there is no such thing as bad publicity" These are the type of people who get up every day and want to know how many times their names are mentioned either on TV or in the newspaper. They don't care if it's in a positive or negative context.

This is a man who thinks rules don't apply to him , he's just looking for attention, he's like a spoilt child 🙄

It stopped me, a person that has always voted, from voting in these elections last week. Poor people and people who are struggling with lives that are hard and possibly caotic. Thats who it stops voting.

I know people think it was a publicity stunt but I err towards this lady's opinion. Of course Johnson understands that he is immune to cockups as this is just his brand so when he discovered he had been caught out, he would have been very happy and that is the horrific injustice that follows Johnson. He never suffers any negative consequences for his terrible behaviour that has so damaged our country.

The hilarious part of the ID is we are not reading name nor address or even if it is in date; we are only told to check if the photo has similarities of the person standing in front of us and that it the ID is an official Identification issued by a recognised government body Should we in Britain have identification cards; yes we should and you can be done

I'm an ex ukip member and local branch nomination for borough council candidate. The UKIP head office banned me from the party, social services essentially put my children in care, Natwest closed my bank account and Surrey police put me in prison.. passport forget it driving licence you must be joking. I am someone that agrees with the idea of an ID card but there was no case for producing an ID just to vote. However what I find most galling is that one of the first acts of the incoming Tory administration 2010 was to scrap the introduction of ID cards.
