Thank you Boris! It should not go unnoticed that the twins Ali and Kiani Rahmani had only a few minutes earlier been talking about their mother whom they haven't seen since they were 8 years old. Now they are 17 as Angelina is. Kiani also tells us that she doesn't think she ever will see her mother again. When Angelina sings, what I hear is: "I've hungered for your touch" and "I need your love".

Oh, Boris, thank you. I missed it in the live. This is a gorgeous performance, and so beautifully accompanied. I would say, if there was any doubt, that Angelina is being fully recognized for her heart for the people of the world, and for her full talent. For me, it was so emotional, I was in tears. Thank you, Boris, for making this performance available. Expressing her empathy and compassion, Angelina made this song more than a beautiful piece with high notes. She ended it by looking at the awardees' two children and their father, placing her hand over her heart. The children are the same age as Angelina. The Norwegian radio orchestra lifted the entire setting to an extraordinary experience - this orchestra suits so well with Angelina.

Such a great honor for Angelina to join other Iranian artists to recognize Narges Mohammadi for all her efforts for women's rights in her native Iran. The world should join in a loud chorus for Narges to be released from prison immediately, so she can end her hunger strike. She was a great choice for this years' Nobel Peace Prize.

Thank you Boris! AJ’s choice of melody was not accidential! Wikipedia: Unchained Melody is a song written by Alex North (music) and Hy Zaret (lyrics), and it was first released in 1955 as the soundtrack and theme song for the film Unchained, hence the name. The film is about an inmate in a prison who is in the dilemma of whether he should escape or serve out his sentence so that he can be reunited with his loved one. And...her grandma is an iranian woman!

What a way to honor Narges Mohammadi, even though it may be YEARS before she will be able to hear this performance or watch the whole ceremony. Beautiful as always to see one glimpse of a bare foot 🙂. And what a beautiful combination of her as-usual stunning - and subtly different than in previous renditions - vocals with this wonderful orchestral arrangement.

Wow, what a live performance this is. I just realize: now it is 10 years ago that Angelina blew all Norwegians (and shortly after many more people) away with her unforgettable rendition of "Gloomy Sunday" as a tiny 7 year old. There she was: totally "in the song", and that has not changed over the years. You can see Angelina is living the song.... I think that is, apart from her unique voice, one of the reasons she makes such an impression on us, the audience. As one of the judges said back in 2013: Angelina, you ARE music..... And Angelina puts it this way: "Music has found me".

Since it is the Norwegian Nobel Committee that is responsible for the Nobel Peace Prize and Angelina is part Iranian, it must have been an even greater honor for her to perform at the ceremony. I imagine that it was a very emotional experience for her and her family, especially her grandmother Mery.

What more can be said about this young lady? What an astounding talent and vocalist! She really has become a legitimate international diva in every way. I've been critical of some of her performances in the past but there is no denying her talent and unique voice. There is no one else like her in the world. This was simply gorgeous by both the orchestra and Angelina. Her vibrato is stunningly close to that of The Righteous Brothers Bobby Hatfield on this particular song. She has an incredible ability to honor the song and the performer she admires. AND she still makes the song sound entirely new.
